100 Day Raw Food Challenge

Hi, everyone!
Anyone else here with 100 lbs or more to lose? I know that anyone with any weight to lose can relate to many of the different things that go with being overweight, & weight loss...but those of us with LOTS to lose, the obese, morbidly obese, etc. have some additional issues going on.

I thought I'd see if anyone else would like to join me here with supporting each other on this particular aspect of our raw journey, with accountability, sharing our struggles & victories, as well as solutions to issues those with less weight to lose don't deal with...& whatever else we're led to share.

{Perhaps Bunny would even set up a specific group here for us...? Bunny...?}

I guess without you on we kinda stopped checking in with each other. I think I really went off the deep end on Super Bowl Sunday, it was alot of snacking on alot of not so good food...........SO since then I have been totally raw, all day, every day. I really learned or should I say I remembered why I was doing this in the first place. My back ached for 3 days and I was so bloated from the salt, I couldn't believe I had gotten so far off track.
I hope things are better with you, just know we are here and want to give you support. Okay?

Sorry I dissapeared from here, & everywhere, everyone...been unable to afford produce, etc. at all lately, & I've also been under too much stress with too much goin' on...but I'm finally slowing down a little, & getting back on track, & will hopefully be able to get going on more raw food in my life in the next week or so...
...until then, I'm focussing on moving more, getting back on a early morning schedule, & getting my house back in order, which helps in every area of my life!

Like I wrote in my blog post today, upon returning here to RawFu, I feel like I've been taking one step forward & a few too many back to make much progress lately, but I know it's ALL about to radically change, & boy, am I ready for it!

K, I'm done checkin' out! (Please forgive me....again!!!) & you can all check in even without me, ya know!! Or call me back, & hold me accountable for dissapearing!!! I wouldn't mind, honest! (In fact, I confess, it would really help lately!)

I keep making a fresh start, then getting waylayed, side-tracked, off track, & back & forth...
...but it's GOTTA stop, my body's cryin' UNCLE!!! NO MORE!!!
So, here I go again, startin' over, ready for the healing to unfold.

I just cleaned out my fridge & cupboards, & hope to get some produce tomorrow & start shedding the pounds again...

I have lab tests to go get done, was going to wait until i did, so I'd know where I'm starting at, but don't know when I can get in, & need to get on with raw NOW!!!

I had a few baby coconuts today & WOW! My body thanked me for HOURS!!!!!

So how are you guys all doin'?
Are you feeling spring around the corner?
Are you ready for another hot summer???
I know I can barely be out in the heat at this weight, & I want to be able to handle it MUCH better this year than I have been the last few years!
I also want to be able to keep moving, exercising, even when it's hot,
so I know I need to start pushing myself harder now!!

What are you doing for exercise? & how often?
Are you feeling your fitness levels increasing???
What helps YOU be consistant???

So here it is a new month!
Are you all thinking about spring coming? & SUMMER???

I know I may not be ready for a bathing suit by the summer, but I DO want to be able to handle being out in the heat, & doin' stuff in the sunshine without getting waaaaaay too over-heated to function (like the last 6 or 7 summers!)
& much as I know raw will get me there, I know I NEED to move more daily, as well! We have a treadmill now, but it got covered in STUFF, (I'm sorting a bunch of stuff in the livingroom) so TODAY it's getting unburied, & I'll be on it throughout the day!
So have you been setting some specific goals? I find it most helpful & effective to set both short & long-term goals, it keeps me focussed on one day at a time, as well as what can happen month by month if I keep goin', & also, wehre I can be & what I can accomplish 6 months & a year from now!

But always, we gotta take it one day at a time, right?

Okay I've got the same thing going on in my living room, stuff on the exercise machine! Only I don't have an excuse like cleaning and sorting things. We are just using it as a freaking coat rack.......So off the stuff went and I did 20 minutes tonight. Can I commit to 20 a day, for say 6 months too? Let's try. Okay?
I know what that feels like in the summer, too hot and too uncomfortable!! I don't think I've even gone out of the house or out of the back yard in shorts and a sleeveless top in years.
And lets put some icing on my cake, I just gained back 4 pounds because I've been eating cooked food again. The hubs he's great, he made 24 choc cupcakes, and its just the 2 of us! What the heck is he thinking? That after all these years my will power is 200% stronger than it used to be. I took them to work!

One day at a time right?

I am new here just joined last night actuaally:) I also have well over 100 to lose, closer to 200 actually. I am also new to raw, although I do believe it is the way we were intended to eat all along. So any help with how to begin would be greatly appreciated! A little about me: I am a 32 year old wife and mom of 5, yes 5:) Ranging in age from 12 years all the way down to 4 months. Since having my baby they have put me on meds for high blood pressure and post partum depression. But I know if I get back to working out and feed my body what it needs, I will be off the meds in no time!

comon, my heart sunk, not ready for bathers, what? The Summer Challenge or the I wear bathers cos I can challenge!*
I so wanna see you go get some bathers even shorts and a tanktop and Get out there in that sun. Expose that gorgeous skin to the sensual water/sun, swim, play and frolick like no one is watching...ughh If I can do it, you gotta give it a go.

Hey stazia!

I am back, and still with lots of weight to lose. You always inspire me. I want to get back on the wagon for health, without focusing on weight loss, but I would sure like to lsoe a few lbs here and there!

Raw was so much easier with the farmers markets in the summer time. Everythign costs more during the winter!!

I am going grocery shopping and doing some journaling this weekend so I can get myself back to where I need to be...part of the raw sisterhood!

Wow, you guys, I'm soooo sorry, I'm tryin' hard to keep up with everything, but keep forgetting to check in here! & then when I don't come to RawFu for a few days, I miss it when ya'll post here!!! Please forgive me!!! Let's keep goin' k? & don't hestate to pop over to my page & kick my butt when I dissapear!!!

Carol, how're you doing with your exercise equipment? My treadmill's in the middle of my living room, which isn't working, cuz then I can't get on the floor & do the other exercising I was doing, so we're in the process of moving everything around & finding a better place for it...& good for you for gettin' those cupcakes outa there!!! Congrats on the self-control! & I hope your hubby has become more supportive, & stops tempting you like that! It's soooo much easier to keep goin', & resist temptation when we have support from our loved ones! (& you can tell him I said so!)

& Swirly, sorry I missed you, Hi! & welcome! Did you get to make some goals, & how are you doing with meeting them?

& Howdy, Shelly keith! Congrats on such a lovely-sized family! What a blessing! I, too, have about 200 to go, but I know we gotta do it just a little at a time, right? The best way to begin (& re-begin, ha ha!) is to keep it simple, eat according to appetite, & not give up, no matter what!

& Lowanna, that's such a cute way of sayin' it, bathers! Ok, ok, I may wear shorts & a tank top, & go swimming at least once or twice...I do LOVE to swim! I even swim in my dreams!!! If you can do it, so can I, you're right!!!

& Hi, Sarah! (**Waving!!!**) Can't wait for our farmer's market, too! Boy, am I EVER ready for spring!! How are you doing now? I'm finally getting back on track, stayin' raw more consistantly, & feelin' a little better every day again...

So we're all stickin' around for the next challenge, right? Does anyone wanna do some brainstorming with me on ways we can support, encourage, & hold each other accountable for when the next challenge starts? (Or even right now!) Here's some ideas I've had about this:

~ Weigh-in days (how about on Biggest loser Tuesdays again, like we used to?)
~ mini-challenges that we issue to each other (on tuesdays, for the coming week?) (maybe with donated little prizes/rewards for those who reach their goal?)
~ Charting our place on the BMI index, & our goal weights to reach the next (lower) level...
~ gathering & sharing the BEST (& biggest!)weight loss testimonies (through raw food, of course!) & sharing the links! (maybe I'll just start a new thread for this...?)


There's more, but I'm gettin' sleepy, so that's all for now! (Can't wait to her your ideas!)

Carol, Anastazia...I am going thru a similar thing as the two of you. I would love to join this group, as I need to lose 100 more pounds. It was a great start last year, and felt amazing and released 66 lbs., but I petered out, and am slowly starting my RawFood adventure, again. Have a beautiful day, everyone!
