Raw Fu

100 Day Raw Food Challenge

It's hard to believe that there are only 40 days left in the first EVER Raw Fu 100 Day Challenge. But, alas, tis true. And it's time to start thinking about what's going to happen next. Here are my thoughts.

The Raw Fu Holiday Mini Challenge will start on November 15th. That gives current challengers a week to set new mini-goals, and to decide how they want to achieve them during the holiday season. The Holiday Challenge will end on Christmas Eve, December 24th. During the mini challenge, we will focus on supporting each other through the busy and food filled holiday season. I'm working on getting a Raw Holiday Survival Guide ready, specifically for this challenge.

A full blown 100 Day Challenge will start up again on January 1st, 2009!

Now, here is where I need your help, input, and opinions.

Opening the flood gates: I have started getting multiple daily requests from people who want to join the community, and who want to sign up for the November Challenge. I was planning to open the floodgates to allow new people to register starting on November 1st, and leaving it open during the Holiday Mini Challenge, so that there is plenty of time for people to register for the New Year Challenge.

But I'm wondering, as long as the site is moderated and monitored, do we need to close registration during each challenge? What are your feelings on keeping registration open, as long as the Rules of the Challenge are still in place? Please feel free to give me your opinions. I want to know how you feel.
------------------------------------------------

Raw Fu Recipe Battles: During the Holiday Mini Challenge, I want to launch Raw Fu Recipe Battles. Imagine Iron Chef, but with raw foods, and everyday judges. I am looking for a few video warriors from around the country, and around the globe to be part of the Recipe Battle team!

You will be asked to prepare the two recipes that are going into battle, and then to serve the recipes to some of your everyday- not-necessarily-raw friends and family members. You'll be videotaping their responses, and declaring one of the recipes a Raw Fu Favorite in your community. Extra bonus love points for taking the recipes out and doing "man on the street" style judging videos. ;)

So, if you're not camera-shy, and would like to be part of the upcoming Raw Fu Battle team, please e-mail me: bunny@rawfu.com with Raw Fu Battle Team in the subject line.

------------------------------------------------
Workbooks: Did you get anything out of the workbooks that I did for the first 2 mini challenges? Would you like to see those in future challenges? Some people like structure. Others don't. So, I'm not sure where to fall on this one. Ideally, I'd like to have them done BEFORE the challenge starts, so that I can post it, and you can follow along or not.

------------------------------------------------

What Else? What else would you like to see during upcoming challenges? Speak now, or forever hold your peas!

A mini challenge is a fabulous idea, especially since that time of the year can be very stressful for so many people. Even if they aren't stressing about the food, they may be stressing about something else. Having the support of a loving community is going to be fabulous for so many people! Bunny, you RAWk!!

I see no problem with opening the floodgates to allow others in. It may be less of a shock to see people trickle in, rather than overnight see hundreds (or thousands!) of new people start to post and ask questions, etc.!

Ooh! The battle sounds like lots of fun!! I'm going to think on it. If I do it, I'll definitely do man-on-the-street videos since everyone else I know is already in love with raw foods. ;-)

I loved your workbooks and I know that if it was the beginning of my raw journey they would have been extremely important to me (because of the type of learner I am). I'm not sure what other people were thinking, however.

You are amazing, Beth. Thank you so much for all you are doing for everyone!!

Lots and lots of love to you,

Wendi
XOXOXO

I totally think you should keep registration open, just imagine how big Raw Fu will become!!! It will be interesting to see how many people join up this time.

I would love to do the raw recipe battle but 1.) no vid cam 2.) I'm to busy, if I didn't have to work I think it would be so much fun!!! Maybe I can be a camera man for a certian someone who lives in my city. We could totally hit the streets wearing our Raw Fu t-shirts!

hugs and kisses

Yeah, I love the battle idea...I can do the man-on-the-street stuff too. :) I never saw the whole workbook thing. I jumped in a bit late though, so maybe I missed out on what it was.

I'm sorry, but I don't think I ever heard of Iron Chef. Nice idea though, raw food demos on the street everywhere :)

The workbooks are great I think. I like that they're there if I want to use them. If everyone else says they're not using them, I don't want to waste your time.

Bunbun -- i am SO up for the mini challenge and the new year one too -- as a newbie to raw this site and all the wonderful people have gotten me this far with all the love and support --

i liked having a theme for each 10 day mini challenge -- but i know that takes alot of work

for keeping the site open as long as its monitored that's all good but i feel that some of our vloggers might not be so open to add their vlogs if the site is open to the public

the battles sound really neat -- although i don't think i am that far along with making my own creations ... yet

but what you have done so far is fantastic!! Hugs T

I'm gonna have to think about the battle, but it sounds like fun! I might be a little camera shy.I agree with the people trickling in instead of there actually being a floodgate.

Ummm.....I don't know. Everything is so great. I liked the workbooks. Maybe more pictures of your beautiful self??Things are finally calming down into a flow at work. If you need any help, lemme know!

Bunny, love the mini challenge and the fact there will be a new 100 day challenge in January. I'm not seeing a weight loss and in fact gained 3 lbs. so far. I was at a raw food potluck on Saturday and someone told me it may not hit until I've been 100% for 4 months. I am looking forward to continuing the journey and having this community for support

I don't know enough to comment about keeping the challenge open. I thought it was a good idea until I saw where someone was concerned about it all being open to the public and that might be kind of iffy. But you have done such a terrific job and you have great judgment and whatever you decide I'm in.

Don't have a camera for the battle or I would do it. It will be fun to watch.

Thanks Bunny....

Hey Bunny-
You have done sooo much already. I support whatever is convenient for you.

Some thoughts:

I loved the workbooks (I am a natural doodler, so it was right up my alley)-I took them to work to stay focused, especially at the beginning of the challenge.

Opening the 'floodgates' is fine with me. I am already on sooo many raw sites- of course I post to this one most often.

I love iron chef and love the idea of raw uncooking challenges. That sounds like fun.

Thanks again Bunny-I know that you are having fun doing this, but don't over-extend yourself too much-especially with the holidays coming up.

Peace

I LOVE the idea of a mini challenge for the sake of keeping up my motivation through a really trying time of the year. I was planning on fasting during the major Holidays. Why end on Christmas Eve, though? It might encourage a lot of new joiners, or people who are feeling especially weak during the holidays to binge or fall from their hopes of eating according to their specific plan.

I would love to see more people here - I know how much Raw Fu has helped me, and I can only imagine the progress that lays in wait. Having the mini challenge open for everyone is peachy, and I think it will encourage a lot of new people to get involved. Leaving the site open throughout a major challenge, though, might prove difficult, if only for the continued flow. I am thinking in terms of your sanity here.
I wouldn't mind new people hopping in and getting started on their journey. But it might be harder for you to manage joiners and whatever else they entail each day. And if everything were open to the public, I'm not sure how much of a community we would have. Like, now, everyone here supports everyone. Sure we have people we comment regularly with. But if there were constantly new people in, they might not find their niche like we do in a closed challenge.

I miss the workbooks! I liked having them; when changing habits, or forming new ones, I really need structure, or else I tend to fall off the band wagon, or stumble a little bit. The designs on them were so pretty, too :] I can imagine they were time consuming for you to make up - if you need help, I LOVE designing things like that - please feel free to contact me. I would be more than happy and willing, etc.

You rock, BunBun. Much raw love. Like, a lot.
Peace, Love, and Well Being,
-Andy

Bun Bun ,
We love the time and effort you put into all of this !

A mini challenge would be fun and a way to keep us all connected and accountable. Holidays are all about food so it would be wonderful to have this community to share and grow with!

The more the merrier ...I delete my old videos and know I am posting at my own risk. You tube has an option to keep anyone from in bedding videos ..ning does not...or so I haven't seen it.

Open the flood gates and help countless more people....it may get hairy but as long as everything is moderated....it should be ok...right?
.
You are so creative and come up with a never ending list of fun ways to live in challenge as well as spreading the word!

Oh..I have never gotten that 52 pick up thing to work ...is there another link to click to participate?
