Hey RawFu'ers-
Do any of you seek out Raw Restaurants when you visit a new city or travel far away from home?
I have started doing this and it is really fun. Of course so far I have only visited 2 places, Go Raw Cafe in Las Vegas and Rawvolution in Santa Monica.
If we all do this we will create a sort of directory for ourselves. We can establish criteria, like:
quality of food, price, service (if you want to add anything else - please do)
Here goes:
Rawvolution in Santa Monica, CA
Quality of food: excellent, fresh, presentation was beautiful
Price: considering I don't eat at Raw places often I did not mind spending more than usual-could I eat there everyday- NO, every once in a while ( a few times per month) - YES!
Service: fantabulous - the owner (Matt) chatted with me:)--VERY friendly staff
Extras: lots-many hard to find items available, like cocao creme, rawgranola, flax crackers.
Just a walk away from the beach:)
Favorite menu item(s): Big Matt with Cheese, apple cookies
Go Raw Cafe 2 locations in Las Vegas, Nevada (20 mins off strip)
Quality of food: excellent-I watched the prep of my meal
Price: Again I don't go to these places everyday, but could afford to visit a few times per month. (Consider that I tend to overspend when I go to raw places because I don't live near them).
Service: fantabulous-they were so nice when I told them it was my first experience at a Raw cafe. They gave me lots of samples of the pates and crackers BEFORE I ordered.
Extras: They carry books and many Raw supplies. This place even has food prep classes every month where you use their kitchen to learn how to 'uncook' raw dishes.
Favorite Menu Item(s): Italian pizza (this was my first Raw Pizza) MMM!, raw fudge squares
I have even ordered some raw supplies from them because I don't have a place in my area.
