Aloha everybody, Bunny Berry here, if you've made it this far, you've decided to join in to the First Ever Raw Fu 100 Day Challenge!
This is going to be a fun and supportive challenge, so jump in and introduce yourself. Feel free to start discussions, and participate. I'll be working on adding stuff to the forums during the month of July, and will keep in touch as we get closer to the August 1st start date!
In the meantime, go ahead and introduce yourselves. How long have you been raw? What prompted you to start a raw food lifestyle? Talk amongst yourselves!
Hi!! I'm T (short for Tracy) -- I seriously started eating a lot more raw foods earlier this year as I was tired of being tired and achy and lethargic and last but not least bad short term memory and low concentration -- I started watching "you are what you eat" which peaked my interest and then found many videos on youtube and googling -- well since then I have been voraciously been reading everything I can find -- sifting through everything since everything is not always true on the net -- it's when I came across bunny berrys 100 day challenge and bunny has inspired me to eat even more of my food intake raw (thanks bunny!) --
i live in moorhead mn which is right across the river from fargo nd (remember the flood of 97) and no we don't talk like the movie lol (yah you betcha fer sure fer sure uffda lol) -- being we are mainly a farming community and cattle we seem to be kind of at the edge of the world -- there are not a lot of options for lots of different exotic raw foods I have seen on the net -- there is not much organic here although the grocery stores are starting to stock things and we have a couple health food stores -- farmers markets are only in the summer -- so it has been a challenge to find things and sometimes for my pocketbook
not sure how hard it will be in the winter to be raw with the product price rising as well as gas prices going up -- so any suggestions are welcome -- but for the challenge I will be trying to be 75% or better raw -- i still like my cooked protein and yogurt and eggs and a bit of cheese -- but slowly eating less cooked meat
hmm ... not sure what else other than I'm 46, and tired of being "healthy" as the Dr's call it -- you know the grey area where you re not really fat but you're lumpy -- I have about 19 pounds left I would like to lose and not find again -- but as long as I look and feel good the scale nbr is not important
I'm excited for this challenge -- thanks bunny! Hugs T
... ooo ... bunny bunny berry ... you have all the bells and whistles here!
... i consider myself new to raw ... i heard about it a few years ago and thought it sounded cool and wanted to try it right away ... i had a cabbage and some potatoes in the house ... it wasn't the most successful, but that was my first intentionally raw meal ... i've been raw, but never for more than a few weeks at a time ... so i don't even know if that counts ...
i want to possibly help a health issue i've had for a while and also want to lose 20 lbs ... i think 20 lbs in 100 days is doable ...
i been watch your blog for longest time me and my hubby when raw for 2 weeks but the nuts killed us so we stop so i am ready to start again and get health praise be so let rock this like a super star
This is the first time I am intentionally changing what I eat to move closer to a raw food lifestyle. I have dabbled in and out of vegetarianism for about five years, but I could never figure out how to plan a week's worth of menus that my husband and I would eat. What can I say? - I like the old stand-bys of spaghetti and chicken with rice.
A recent diagnosis of severe allergies has me rethinking what I put in my body every day. I love the idea of a friendly 100 day challenge!
I am Michelle, 40 years old , 330 lbs. Dealing with health issues not related to weight...steroids have
made it impossible to keep weight off....I am not giving up!!!
I am joining this raw food challenge Aug 1st and I am determined to make it work this time for good.
I am 6ft tall and active a few days a week....I would love to feel good and LEARN how to eat more than just raw salads :)
Thank you Bunny for creating this community....support and sharing of recipes make a world of difference.
i LOVE your blog! i've been doing raw on and off for nearly 2 years now(!) and my tastes are changing; fruits and greens and all the rest satisfy me like they never have before....and then, there is the siren call of potato chips, a bit of bread and raw cheese, fish, wine, and there i go...i still have some work to do.
i will say that since starting on raw i've made some major life changes(quitting my crappy job, weeding out toxic people, going back to school, moving out of the city, etc.)and it feels good. to anyone new and starting out on this, you will change for the better in ways unimaginable to you now.hang in there! it's worth the effort even if you're not perfectly perfect!
I am feeling so excited and positive about the upcoming challenge. My name is Deborah and I am 54 years old, 20 pounds overweight and just diagnosed with MS. I live in Sacramento with my husband and 17 year old daughter ... both being very supportive of eating raw, organic foods. My husband finished prostate cancer treatment last year and since then we, as a family, have made a solid effort to choose what and how we eat. I have seen good things happen since we went vegan and part raw ... I am excited to see what happens taking it a big step further. Eating raw during hot Sacramento summers seems a piece of cake, but I am worried when the weather turns cooler ... but I hope to have several months of raw goodness under my belt by then.
Bunny, you have done such a great job organizing and creating this challenge. I am looking forward to making new friends and sharing experiences with everyone. Thanks.
look at this site! bunny, your creativity is bringing LIFE to the raw virtual lifestyle. we NEEDED this.
i'm so excited to start this challenge with everyone here! i am 2 1/2 months into raw...been falling off the wagon, slightly here and there...my body is not a happy camper. this challenge is just what i need. however, i don't think it'll be much of a challenge for my body since it's practically screaming out to me to stay with nothing but fresh, living food! :)
nice to meet you all. bunny, you ROCK! let's all stay positive for each other on here. good vibes all around loves! :)
I am so excited about bunny's new community and I think it will have all of her great energy and spirit. I am Sara Beth, or sara, or sb, ha... I live in seattle and have been vegan about 10 years. I have dabbled with raw food in the past but 2 months ago is when I finally made a commitment to raw veganism. I have been about 97% (???) since. Still choosing to eat a couple non raw items like nutritional yeast and balsamic vinegar, but otherwise all raw. It should be really fun to give and get support from all of you!
Hi everybody. My name is Beth, but some people call me Bunny. I live in South Carolina (Go Upstate!), and am a web geek, mother, wife, digital scrapbook artist, and a total foodie. My love of food, and all things food related runs bone deep. So, when I first read about a raw food lifestyle my reaction was less than enthusiastic. I love to COOK!
But I started surfing around on the web, and discovered tofu666's photostream on Flickr. Suddenly, the light bulb went off in my head, and I got really excited about trying to learn a new way of preparing gourmet food. I dove in, and put myself on a self imposed 100 Day Raw Food Challenge. I committed to trying a raw food lifestyle for 100 days, no matter what. And I decided to video tape my journey and share it on YouTube and Blogger.
That is how I met the most wonderful raw food enthusiasts on the web! I started to form friendship bonds with people across the country, and the support and love from those friends is exactly what inspired this new upcoming challenge.
I've got about 60 pounds to lose, and I really appreciate you guys going on this journey with me. It won't always be easy, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun!
Hi, I'm Jenni! I eat raw foods sometimes, but not all the times. I'm dipping corn chips (not raw) in raw ranch style dressing as we speak, does that count? I'm really excited about this challenge. I'll upload a picture tomorrow when I have them with me! Hi everyone!
Hi, my name is Abby and I am excited to do this challenge. I have been dabbling a bit and thinking a lot about going raw, and this is a good opportunity to start in a supportive setting. Plus I am a bit competitive, so calling it a "challenge" will probably motivate me to keep going when the will power starts to get weak. I love to cook, but I'm going to try to keep my diet simple, nothing fancy, because whenever I start getting fancy, I fall off the wagon, even if the "treats" I make are 100% raw, I think, oooh, treats ... if I'm having treats I may as well eat McDonalds...and then I go tumbling off the wagon. So, no dehydrator or gourmet stuff for me, I'm going to try to stick to simple fruits, veggies and sprouts. I will also drink raw milk and eat raw cheese and eat lacto-fermented foods. I hope to be of support to you and definitely need support from you. Good Luck everyone!
