100 Day Raw Food Challenge

(...I just posted this under the new post about what to eat when sick on raw, but thought it'd be more veiwed in it's own post...)

I need your help...

...for the last 2 days, my back on one side under my ribs has been hurting worse & worse, to the point that all day today I've been in constant pain, & can hardly sit or stand more than a minute or 2, & now, it's throbbing. When I tried to go to bed & it got worse & I had to get up (so have been up all night again) I finally clued in that I've also had very concentrated dark pee, & have been forgetting to drink water the last few days....(when I eat juicy fruit, even a small amount, I lose my sense of thirst, & just forget to drink.)

I've had a little water yeterday & today (& possibly the day before), but not near as much as I know I need....many months back this happened, (wasn't raw then) & came close to ending up in the hospital due to dehydration, & had to take strong antibiotics for a severe bladder infection that rapidly turned into a kidney infection.

I DON'T want to even go to the Dr's (no ride available today anyways) & I definately could not handle a round of antibiotics right now (I feel so sick to my stomach from the pain killer I finally gave in & took...I do NOT handle medicine well, & especially now tht I'm raw)....but I know kidney's aren't something you mess around with....so could you help me figure out what to do to cure this naturally & quickly?

I know I need lotsa water, & cranberries, {am about to go check my bank & see if I can ask my friend to pick some up,} but what else will help that I can get? I have garlic, would that help this? (fights infection, right?) I want to google it but can't sit here long...

What I keep thinking is watermelon, but would that be counterproductive, being somewhat of a diretic? I'm tired & not thinking too clearly, but Hannah will be up soon so I'm just going to go have a hot bath, drink more water, & stay up as long as I can so I can get her up, get her breki, & give her a list of things to get done while I lay down...gotta get more water in me first...& was hoping you guys could help...& of course your prayers & kind thoughts will help, too!.

i'm sending you heaps of prayers and good thoughts ...

i think you're on the right track with lots of water ... in fact, in my opinion and from things i've read over the years, i think water alone may be your best bet ...

also, many pain killers work by suppressing the immune system, so you may want to stay away from them as well ...

your body itself is a marvelous self-healing organism ... if you give it the environment it needs and step out of the way, it will have the best chance to fix itself ...

and i just wanted to add that anything other than water may be unnecessary ... the water is going to, among many other things, dilute any bacteria that may be there and then flush it out ... & your immune system will take care of any that aren't ...

the whole cranberry thing is based in research that shows cranberry can prevent bacteria from sticking to the lining of the urethra ... but that's about all it does ...

i've done exactly what you did ... let myself get dehydrated (it's so easy to do) and i get all kinds of nether region pain ... for me, it always goes away with just water ... i don't know if i have any kind of infection ... i think it's more inflammation than anything ... and lots of plain water seems to get it straightened out within just a few hours ...

wow I am sorry you are going through this hun...I think celery is really a good replinisher....but drink good fresh water if you can ...not tap....
if i were there I would watch your baby Hannah so you could rest....drink water....I wouldnt worry about staying high raw.....drink some miso or maybe good ole chicken soup?
maybe broth? maybe a potato soup....are you getting enough calories?
have you been regular? Draw a hot bath and see it this helps?
I am praying for you as I am waiting for my next appt here in the lobby...Water....ice water ice..soup...water

I wouldn't hesitate to take antibiotics for a kidney infection. Staying alive is good! Get to the doctor as soon as you possibly can.

Drinking TONS and TONS of water to hydrate and flush out.

.. And drinking a mix of 'Baking Soda' & water knocks it out.

That has saved me in the past. Really. It totally got rid of it.

Do you have a fever? You dont want to mess around with a bladder infection...I know you hate meds ...but.... you may need them....do you have a walk in clinic? I think ER cant turn you away if you dont have the money....I agree with Priss regarding this....

Dear Anastazia, I was having kidney pain this week too. On my right side...it hurt really bad to lay on my left side. The previous week I had a tiny bit of UTI...hadn't experienced that in YEARS! Anyway I took grapefruit seed extract in water and fresh green juice/smoothie. I drank tons of water! With lemon or lime alot too. BTW I was pre- that time of the month and then "mooning" during my UTI and kidney pain experience. Its all gone this morning. I really felt like I was detoxing/healing something in that part of my body. Grapefruit seed extract is very potent..only put 5-10 drops in your liquids. Just gulp it down..it can be bitter...but bitter "medicine" is very effective. GSE is anti-viral-bacterial-fungal, etc. Let us know how you are faring!

...the bath didn't help. I wish I could afford the grapefruit seed extract but I know it's quite expensive, & I just can't do it. I think I do have baking solda, so I'll definately try that...I also put a buch of lemon in a big jug of water...peeing lots, but still very cloudy, dark...
...I just want to go to bed now, & try again to sleep, but Hannah will be up soon.

Tiffany, I've only had one bladder or kindey infection before (both at once) but I suddenly totally recognized the symptoms. Yes, teh right side, & I can't get comfy in any position, but especially on my left side.

Don't worry, i will find a way to the drop in clinic that treats them if i absalutely have to...& even take the antibiotics that really mess me up (raw has healed the IBS I've had on & off for years, but they really messed me up BAD last time, for months afterwards!) ...so i just don't want to!!!

Thanks, gypsy mama, that was so sweet, to offer to come watch her, so i can sleep...she'd lvoe that (she really loves your videos, & tells me every time we watch one that she really likes your gentle voice...) (I'm praying for your visits today, hope all goes well!)
ican't even send her to a friends cuz everyone starts h-school or school today...but she spent many an hour on her own when i was a wreck last year, i just hate so much to do that to her...she always gets lonely & a little clingy afterwards, & i know it's not good for her...

Gotta get off this chair...thankyou so much, everyone for your help, advice, & encouragement...I'll update you later, before i do go to bed, & let you know if it's getting any better & if the baking soda helped.

I'm so dumb, i thought i just pulled a muscle badly, just like last time, & didn't clue in till i could barely move again...i used to keep a health notebook/calendar of whatever my body went thru in the year, but stopped recently...don't even know where it is, but if came in handy on Dr's visits, etc...i think i'll start again...then i won;'t be so clueless if it ever happens again.

If it were me, I would drink nothing but water mixed with pure 100% cranberry juice (it's not sweetened it's very bitter) in a 32oz container I would mix 28 oz of water and 4oz of cranberry juice and drink half your body weight in water. I use to have this issue sometimes. Kidney's are nothing to play around with. If we wait until we are thristy to drink water we are dehydrated by the time we feel that thristy feeling. It's important to make sure that you are sipping half your body weight in water throughout the day. I drink 32oz of water upon rising every morning then I have until bedtime to get the rest in. If the pain doesn't go away after getting your fill of water today, please go see a doctor because this is nothing to play around with.

I just called my friend, she reminded me the back to h-school picnic is today, which hannah really was looking forward to us going together, but she can go with our friends & I can sleep without leaving her alone for a few hours...now i just have to go make her a picnic lunch...
yay. Now just oray i can keep going til she gets picked up (2+ more hours)
My friend said she can take me to the Dr's after picnic if I'm not better. hoping i will be...

I hope you get better very soon :) stick small papers on fridge, mirrors...with DRINK WATER on them! it will help a lot with your issue and keep the moral up.

I can't add any more that what has already been said. But please don't let it get out of hand or you might end up staying in the hospital. With our dr if you have already been seen for something you can talk to the dr or nurse tell them your symptoms and they will call in a prescription for you, maybe you could try that? ANyway, sending prayers for your healing.
