I am so excited to be back, and to have so many people joining in for the next 100 day raw food challenge! Whether you are committing to a salad a day or committing to going 100% raw, I am here to support you in your efforts. One thing I want to say right up front on Day 1 is this: YOU GOTTA GET YOUR GREENS! Eat them, juice them, smoothie them, whatever you've gotta do, it's all about the greens.
I am FIRED UP about my health right now, and am trying to learn as much about nutrition as I can to make the next 100 days of Raw Fu absolutely incredible. I have a big weight loss goal for this challenge I'm hoping to lose right around 35 pounds. So, this means I not only have to be prepared in the kitchen, I need to prepare square between the ears. I have to have myself in a place mentally that is setting me up for success.
Today I've been working the green smoothies and the juice.
Newbie here - and no, I'm not feeling insulted. I am a brand new person in this new year!!!
I was just having a discussion with my youngest dd (she's 29, married with 4 kids) about the difference among vegetarian, vegan and raw. I guess her hubbie brought it up and wonder how anyone could live without meat. Well, she was sure surprised when I told her what I was doing for the next 100 days! hehehe I also begged her not to give milk to the kids, but if she has to go with goat's milk over cow's milk. At least the new baby's getting mom's best - breast!
I really got motivated when I took my glucose this morning. I've been hovering around 100-110, considered pre-dieabetic. Well, I guess I just officially crossed the boundary and wandered into diabetic territory. 157!!! (Of course I did finish off the Christmas fudge and had a small scoop of ice cream - along with a final Mexican meal - yesterday.) Dr. Cousens' book There is a Cure for Diabetes showed up yesterday, so I've been reading that. I was surprised to find out that his diet isn't 100% raw and that he does include some cooked grains. Guess that'll work because I wasn't aiming for 100% during this 100 day challenge - maybe next time. My poor body's in for enough of a shock having to go without mashed potatoes covered in gravy.
How many pounds of greens? Now, THAT'S funny! I suffered through one leaf (!) of romaine in my smoothie this morning. I did add a big spoonful of supergreen powered stuff, but I could taste the bitterness of the one poor pitiful leaf in my smoothie. Guess I'll have to work my way up to 1/2 a head.
Anyone have any suggestions for a green that's not as bitter as romaine in a smoothie? I like it just fine in salad, which is why I tried it in the smoothie this morning. I don't have an Andre at my house - just Oscar the Osterizer who is about 30 years old. Bought him at the Del Mar fair way back when and he's been slaving away just fine since. But fruit smoothies aren't quite the same as green smoothies, and I found a chunk or two of lettuce in my smoothie this morning. Ick.
Bunny, blessings to you and your family. I stumbled across your videos on You Tube and wandered over here. I've spent the last few weeks listening to all your vlogs and reading through the forums. I love that everyone here is regular people. No divas to compare myself to, just a group of people who want to do the best they can for their body and are willing to support others looking for the same. God bless.

Happy New Year Everyone!! I love the idea of adding up the greens! Started my new year with a smoothie for breakfast. Lunch was raw ribs, collard greens and sprouted black eye pea salad with chocolate mousse for dessert. Not sure about dinner. Will probably be a salad! Welcome to all the new comers!
I am really ready for this challenge. Today, I've been a juicy juicer. I've had lots of vitamin C incorporated (with oranges and tomatos in paticular), along with some greens (of course!). Because I'm juicing right after the holiday binge, my energy is low, but I know how detox is. I'm prepared to take my punishment!
Hi Bunny, Great start to do a New Year!
I'm ready to take on your 100 day RAW challenge, it will be GREAT to get back on track!

I am so excited more this time then last time since I have learned alot already on this journey.Great explination on this video for a new quest. My first day is super.I made the Fat burning juice (recipe under the Forum section somewhere) and its sour,so I turned it into tea by adding green tea bag to it, no sweetner like agave~ NONE! Then for the afternoon now I am having Carrot,Apple,Celery and, slice of Ginger~ juice from my Champion Juicer I got on Craigslist for $125.00 and, its great! This carrot drink is a favorite so far.....Later my greens come in .I am going to post some new photos later of my morning makings.I am NOT doing only juices, but today I want a nice start~Happy New Year and I hope to hear from you again! Hugs Dianne
MMMM, I'm a green lover! I'm around a pound to pound a half with my greens, so I'm looking forward to stepping it up. I feel so, so much better when I have more greens. Yay for day one!

Bunny, You are soo motivating! I am also joining in on this challenge. For me I am going high raw the biggest obstacle I will face as far as food goes is cutting out the sugar. I am addicted to sugar quite frankly. And this is the big reason I want to join. I want to get off sugar and start treating my body right.
Happy New Year! I am a newbie. I am in for the 100 day RAW challenge! I live in South Carolina. For the past 7 months I have been eating 80% raw and 20% cooked but going completely raw will still be a challenge for me. The green challenge sounds great, we all need our greens. I had a wonderful Raw Collard Salad for lunch today. I love green smoothies so that will help me get some greens in my daily total :-) My problem is that I love bread. I'll have to find something that satisfies this craving. Any good recipes for raw bread in the dehydrator? I look forward to sharing recipes, tips and to get encouragement from this raw group!
Great to see everyone back and ready to go. I've done really well today, considering that I stayed home all day and that's usually a call to the fridge. Had kale in my smoothie for the first time and along with the spinach, apple and frozen blueberries, it was delish. My goal is to replace one meal a day with a green smoothie, and to have the other meals as unprocessed, vegan, and correctly portioned as possible.
My day 1 is nearly over. I'm very new to this, so I'm concentrating on adding more raw into my diet rather than being fully raw (or even 50%).. so today I ate one whole bag of grapes and some carrot and cabbage mixed together to make coleslaw. I wouldn't have either on a normal day, so I'm counting that as success for me!
