ANDRE'S REVENGE DAY 14- Bunny's Bee Pollen Brownie Bites

Today I am back on cutting board cam! Things get a little shaky, but I swear I haven't been drinking. The Birthday Fairy sent me the recipe for brownies, and I was eager to get into the kitchen and make them for you. But the recipe calls for walnuts. I found out in my first challenge that walnuts make me retain serious water. So, I whipped up my own version of brownies based on the recipe. My ingredient list is kind of wild, but don't be afraid. They're delicious! And even extra nutritious since I threw in a shot of bee pollen!

1/3 C pine nuts
1/3 C sunflower seeds (I probably say sesame seeds in the video. I always do!)
1/3 C pumpkin seeds
1 C pitted dates
1/4 C cacao powder
Pinch of vanilla powder
1 TBS BEE POLLEN!!

Soak the nuts, seeds, and dates. Then blend all in food processor until smooth and sticky. Spoon onto a plate and put in the freezer to flash freeze. When flash frozen, put bites into an airtight container and leave them in the freezer until you're ready to eat them. Pop them into your mouth, or put in dehydrator to warm them up.

Bee pollen has been shown to help people:

* lose weight
* increase energy, vitality and stamina
* enhance the immune system
* relieve allergy and asthma symptoms
* improve sexual function
* correct digestion problems
* slow the aging process
* prevent cancer and other diseases

Oooo, oooo....this I can make, now that I have a new Cuisinart food processor! God they look good! I can't wait to try them!

I have a question....how long do you soak the seeds and dates? And also, whenever a recipe calls for nuts, is it assumed that they are always soaked before using? Cuz I see recipes that I'm interested in making, but it doesn't specifcally mention soaking. So I was just wondering if that is always assumed.

Thanks you, Bunny! You're the BEST!

Hugs!

P.S. Day 10 gluten free!

Thanks this look delicious!!! I'm going to give it a try too. This will be my first raw recipes that goes outside of preparing salads.

Andre I think this is what I love about you and gives me the confidence to try to keep up with raw, is that you don't claim to be perfect and you don't do everything by the books. You're AWESOME!!!!

That looks so yummy. I don't have bee pollen though, and can't get any any time soon. :( You said the only difference was that you used the bee pollen and seeds instead of walnuts? Gonna have to try that that way then. Walnuts I have, bee pollen, not so much! :D

And, cacao doesn't keep me up at night, but it can for hubby! ;) With me, it's like it does something great, because it puts my ADD in check and helps me concentrate and focus! :D

Well, this is the first time I've ever ordered stuff like this, but I ordered from The Raw Food World. Click on the Go Shopping link over to the right, and you can find all of the goodies!

I live in Anderson, SC, and believe me, we don't have this stuff near our state line either. :)

Those look really good! I'm going try them sans bee pollen (strict vegan and all). Is there such a thing as over indulging when you're eating raw?

Yum yum!

Like SnowTonight, I won't be adding pollen as I'm vegan also. I may add a dash of agave nectar though for the sweetness if it needs it after tasting with just the dates to sweeten. I have some raw carob powder so I'll try them using that - I love the taste of carob!!
