So, there has been this topic looming out there that I've been embarrassed to talk about, but feel like I needed to address. I've gained 10 pounds back during this challenge. I have been sleep eating while taking Ambien. I finally figured out that I was eating junk food in my sleep, and asked my psychiatrist about it. He confirmed that Ambien can make you have episodes of amnesia and that people sleep eat, sleep walk, and even sleep DRIVE!
So, I'm off the Ambien. And hoping the pounds will start going bye bye again any day now.
Also, I gave myself kind of a bad haircut today. Feel free to point and laugh.
CHAT FU TONIGHT @ 10PM EST. Party Chat...come as you are.
HOW IS YOUR DAY 63 GOING? Any big plans for the weekend?
Holy crap, that Ambien stuff is scary as hell! I got shivers just thinking about it. I hope everything goes smoothly from now on for you. I wouldn't want anything scary like sleep driving happening to you. :/
My plans for the week-end include making lots of juice, visiting my grand father in the hospital, and then a trip to the next biggest city so I can shop for some awesome raw munchies. :)
I love the hair though~ you're the only one who thinks it's bad, so no worries. We're all still digging you. :)
2. My cousin was just telling me about Ambien! She tas taking it too... and she ALSO had sleep eating episodes! She woke up to candy wrappers in her bed!
Loved that video Bunny! I'm sorry you're having trouble with insomnia, but I'm glad you're off that stuff!
Can't offer any suggestions for insomnia as I've never really had a huge problem with it other than the occasional sleepless night. My problem is I can sleep TOO much sometimes. But I've heard people mention melatonin for insomnia.
Also, I think your hair looks pretty nice and I do hair :-) It's bouncy and fluffy! But you're awfully brave. I don't even cut my own hair!
I didn't know about the chat till it was too late :-(
bunny -- you're hair looks great -- wish i could self cut good enough as i would do it -- shh you didn't hear that since my wonderful hair stylist is a member of rawfu :P -- i have had my bouts with insomnia -- i have been going with the flow -- since going raw i find my times where i can't sleep are very few now -- and i don't need as much sleep being raw and my sleep is more restful -- and if i can't get to sleep i just keep going and then go to work and then i come home and that next nite i definitely sleep -- mostly i have been catching 4 hr cat naps since i have been picking up all the OT they hand out as i want to be debt free in 2 years -- so this week will be between 53 and 55 hrs worked -- of course i live alone and can now fall asleep at the drop off a hat when i lay down -- all i can say is i'm glad grocery stores are open 24 hrs a day as i seem to get my shopping done in the middle of the nite -- saves on money too since real stores aren't open to binge at -- and yes please hurry with the shop fu -- i m getting low on cacao
Oh ick, Ambien is like acid thats legal. I used to be on it and hallucinated all the time on it, had lots of *blackout* periods where I didnt know what I did at all, its very very scary!
*Fingers crossed* for your brother!
HUGS!!!
Think the haircut looks good! :D
Hi Bunny!
I can totally understand the sleep eating with the Ambien. It happened to me also..scared me to death..it happened to me the first time I took it..I guess I decided to do what I love to do and that's eat.. I slept like a rock until I had children. I became a much lighter sleeper at that time. Then in my mid forties I started having the sleeping problem. I can go to sleep just fine, I just can't stay asleep. Anyone that has had sleeping problems can totally understand how desperate you can get trying to solve the problem. I don't think there is enough room on this page to tell you how many things I've tried to help this ..anywhere from all kinds of natural vitamins, pills, hot baths, protein before bed, teas...just crazy... Right now I stay up late and listen to a "Healthy Sleep" cd before I go to bed...If I try to go to bed before 11PM, I'm awake in an hour.. this routine seems to help some....but I too am tired most of the time..more tired when I get up than when I go to bed...for me personally I absolutely can't stand the groggy head when I wake up...I'm tired, but my brain isn't in a coma...oh, if you want to know more about the cd let me know...it's called Healthy Sleep, but I can't remember how to spell the authors last name..it's Bella Ruth Naprastat or something like that...as you can tell I could go on and on about this subject.,,oh one more thing..I also wear ear plugs at night..they are called heros...I love them..
