100 Day Raw Food Challenge

What do you do when a good smoothie idea just turns out bad? I've made a few in my time and in the past I just tossed it in the compost but today I tried something different. I put so much good stuff in my smoothie (too much good stuff) that I didn't want it to waste so I froze the smoothie in silicone muffin cups (I use that for a lot of things I plan on sharing in a video when I get the courage). I am planning to add just one of the cups per smoothie when I make other smoothies. I'll just toss it in and hopefully it will be diluted enough to not taste quite as terrible. (ok, I'll be honest. I spilled MSM in the smoothie today & no way was I throwing that away!)

What are your ideas?

Pour in the agave. If it's sweet I'll drink it!

I say good idea! I hate to waste food, esp if its $$$$$$. I say pour it down the gullet and it will do your body good! Storm and Jinjee posted a thought the other day...sometimes what our taste buds want has nothing to do with what our body wants. Let us know how your experiment works!

one of my first smoothies was "waaay too much kale" and i added like 3 more ripe bananas, and it was livable.

I only sweeten with fruit.

LOL - that's a good move. Don't waste the expensive stuff.

I sometimes try to add more sweet fruit like a banana if my smoothie doesn't taste good. But sometimes that doesn't help (esp when I use funky Japanese dark greens that taste herby in a bad way) so I just hold my breath and chug it down. My intestines would love it though!!

I'm just sayin 4 Tablespoons of MSM is rough! LOL Drank half it. Froze the other & will toss parts of it in w/ the next few smoothies. No amount of agave or dates was cutting it - by a long shot! I've had worse though & drank it too.

I've tried adding rose water and orange water to see if they'd taste like lassis. No no no not. They were BOTH terrible. yuck yuck yuck! blech!

=^..^= I assume worth it though? Just don't spill it into your smoothie! ::giggle::
I hear so much about MSM ... and keep hovering around it when I am at the store. I can't decide if I should try it or not. It's a large $ expense to experiment with if it really isn't going to do much. But, I have a sore shoulder ... bothers me sometimes & has on and off for a while. If it truly will help make my shoulder stronger I will invest! As far as bitter ... If I can down some of the stuff my herbalist gave me to strengthen my immune system, I can ingest anything. Ugh. --Thanks! zu

I just started eating raw by using smoothies. I started Mon. 29th and on the 4th of July, my children wanted smoothies for breakfast. This is great. It's almost been a full week and I am sleeping better. I used sprouts, spinach, flax seeds (ground), and fruits ( bananas, peaches, and mangoes). Wow! Thanks for all the great ideas.
