Day 15- Survive 100 Days With Bunny- TUESDAYS WITH LOU- CRAVINGS

Oy vay, how long do the cravings last? Just like quitting cigarettes, you have to come up with plans for how you're going to deal with your cooked food or junk food cravings. Lowanna talks about this today, and has some great tips for how to bust your cravings.

One of the best things in this video is the point that if you're really having strong cravings, look at your diet, and make sure you are getting ENOUGH FOOD. You should be getting enough calories to sustain your body and your activity level. You will not be able to maintain a living food lifestyle if you're hungry. Don't treat it like a diet! This is how you eat. Your cravings are in your mind. Your body wants nutrition. Eat nutritious food.

I was hoping for more info on the kale chips! I am going to try to find a recipe on-line to try out.

Thanks for the wonderful video!

Love it! I am comfortable with raw, but I'm embarking on the Gabriel Cousens plan (as of the avocado snack I just ate), so this is a great time for me to hear about dealing with cravings & eating mindfully! Thank you. :)

Oh, yes - where is the kale chip recipe? Sounds yummy!

I think since I've gone into detox mode in my brain that I am not eating enough. Thanks for the reminder Lou. I'm going to make sure I pack the calories in tonight with the most glorious salad you've ever seen. I have fresh radish sprouts just waiting to be devoured!

Oh how I miss the cheese....but avocados are helping.

I started this challenge planning on incorporating more veggies/salads into my diet and just being more mindful of what I was putting in my mouth overall...and it's like a switch got flicked. Lou, in one of your blogs you say a friend told that "one day you would 'wake up' and want to change" and I've had the same experience! My juicer gets used twice daily and my poor blender...oy! Not a Vita-mix and I already sense the end is near for that one :P

Keep up the good works Lou, you look absolutely stunning and I would love to see you add another 'after' picture!

Great video, Lowanna!

The celery for salt craving is an excellent suggestion. I never cared for celery too much, but I found that the more I added them to my smoothies and in my juices, they helped quell that salt craving.

Wonderful post! It's the cravings that seem to overwhelm me and get me off track over and over again. I really need to spend some quality time getting a few snack recipes going (like those yummy kale chips of yours!!) so that I have options on hand when a craving strikes. Thanks for the reminder about eating enough too Lou...on days when I'm 100% raw sometimes I don't get quite enough calories in. I need to add a bit here and there if my energy is low or if i'm having pretty serious cravings.

Thanks for your video, Lowanna. It was a great start to my day as I listened while I made brekkie. You gave really good practical tips — I do agree it's a great idea to replace junk food cravings with raw food; it feels like "second best" at first but once my stomach is satisfied, I think, "Man, I'm glad I did not have XYZ because I would feel bad/guilty now."

The hardest cravings are the emotional ones but I'm working on that.
