Raw Fu

100 Day Raw Food Challenge

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING TOPIC MAY MAKE SOME PEOPLE UNCOMFORTABLE. M O N E Y

When I had a job, I made right around $100,000/year, and was the sole breadwinner in my family. Well, baby, we've milked that severance, and we are now OFFICIALLY OUT OF MONEY! Woo Hoo! Let's downsize! It's the new green thing to do, and it's really easy to do when you just, well, run out of money.

We can no longer afford our big house, our cars that aren't paid for, or our fancy cell phone bills. And you know what? WHO CARES? It's just stuff that is holding us back from exploring our true selves, and finding enlightenment.

Come, get enlightened with me. Lose all of your money and downsize. It's incredibly peaceful and fulfilling. Funny how when I made $100K, I dreaded getting out of bed in the morning, and now I wake up at 6:30 ready to exercise and get the most out of my day. Stop! The Earth is shifting. Can you feel it?

Now I can finally start putting my Bailout Plan into place. The first step was getting REAL about the fact that I was out of money. Now I can start to rebuild with a plan. I'll try to share as much of it as I can with you along the way.

Oh Bunny... I love you!

Your spirit is amazing... and I KNOW that things will work out for you and your family.

It is very freeing to just let GO.. or Let Come ( as Goddess Durga so wisely pointed out to me )...

Your magazine is so amazing. You have MAD skillz...

Keep on keeping on dear Bunny!

Congratulations, Bunny!!! Seriously, thank you- your post really resonated with me as I too am close to getting through the last of my corporate money and am still planning on moving forward with my Raw Breakthrough Summer Tour regardless! I am spending the last of that cash on revamping my website and though I know in my heart that the universe will reimburse me because I have no plans on being a raw pauper- I think it is way better if raw foodies have the money as opposed to unconscious corporate meanies, we spend the money in better ways helping people and the planet:) Hang in there, Sista, we be rockin' the rich raw lifestyle!!!!!!

I have been in the downsizing process for a WHILE now - welcome to the ride! Whee! :) I have learned so much about what is really important that it is probably BETTER that I've gone through this the last few years. Every little thing I used to buy thinking "It only costs..." - I tell you, they just aren't that important. A few years ago, my thinking changed from "It's only $7" to "I can buy a lot of bananas for $7". :D

This week? I'm downsizing by eating weeds. :) I have dandelion greens in the yard and haven't picked them cuz I'm afraid of the bitter taste. Less than $10 for a week's produce, and guess how much more appealing those dandelions look? ;)

I love you Bunny! Putting it in someone elses hands and just partying sounds like the only way to go ;O)

By the way, has anybody noticed that I have nails now? I stopped biting my nails. Reducing your stress levels causes all sorts of lifestyle improvements. I've been a nail biter my whole life.

I totally agree Bunny: we control our own destiny! I think your outlook on chic-downsizing is great. If you read "Millionaire Mommy Next Door" she talks a lot about doing without the big cars/houses/etc, and living below your means. Of course if your means are next to nothing, that's a challenge.

We're all here to support you Bunny! *hug tight* I know the Universe has got something big in store for you, because you're just ready to make it happen. :)

Bunny, I love your attitude. I've been sort of where you are for a while. I'm retired, so I do get my teacher's retirement and Social Security. I'm on Medicare, so that helps. My life now is all about my rescued special needs dogs, and everything I do is predicated on them (not me, for a change).

I used to be like everyone else...spent what money I had all the time, drove a Toyota Supra, went on trips, had closets full of clothes...and it wasn't terribly satisfying. I wasn't healthy and I was very depressed.

Now I drive an 8-year-old paid-for Focus, spend almost nothing on myself except for raw food and the things I need to be raw. I've cancelled my Dish Network and now get Netflix movies. I have the most basic phone service. I stay home and find I really like my own company. And I'm just fine...in fact I'm healthier than I've been in years and I'm happy doing what I love most...rescuing dogs.

I'm working on getting rid of all of the stuff and clutter in my life...both physical and mental,,,and you're right. It is so freeing to have nothing much.

LOVE! I think this is my favorite Bunny video of all time. I'm so proud of you, and seriously, I am so happy for you. I've been in a long slow downsize for a long time, and just today I was wistfully thinking of living out of a van. Like, I even called my BF and asked him how much he thought it would cost. I'm so into it. Or a trailer. I want to live in a covered wagon, or have a travois. I know DurianRider isn't the most loved man in mainstream Raw Food communities, but dude - he lives literally in his bicycle, with a little trailer. His whole life fits in his back pocket, basically. When he flies to other places, he packs up his bicycle, puts it in the cargo hold, carries on his backpack, gets off the plane, unpacks his bike, puts it together again, and off he rides, no taxi, no bus, just freedom. ARGH! I CRAVE that like I crave mangoes and jackfruit and a big fat durian right after having wild crazy sex on a deserted white sand beach and romping in the turquoise ocean. ARGH! In the meantime, I'm going to keep following my dreams. all 8 billion of them. Because I KNOW that the Universe will support me. God is my Source. Source is not my God. learned that when I got fired. Things keep moving, they keep changing. And I will spend my last penny on good food. I'll be homeless, but I will never stop working for what I believe in, and I will never settle for scraps at the table.

Good for you! I think how we are about money is how we are about life, and honesty and transparency about money is honesty and transparency about life. And you are so right about getting rid of stuff - it's totally freeing - and usually leads to losing weight, too -- extra weight and extra stuff are both ways we keep ourselves from really being present.

I live in a small studio, no car, working off my debt, but I have a lot of freedom - a lot more than people who are slaves to their lifestyles. As long as you guys have each other, some roof over your heads, and your blender ;-), you'll be o.k.

And by the way, you're looking more and more radiant, so something about downsizing is working for you!

I really enjoyed this post. Thank you. My husband and I have always avoided having "real jobs" and sometimes it's been incredibly difficult but it's true--we always get through. We have been doing better and better over the years at building up what we love to do into moolah so more power to you for going for your dream--the magazine is a great idea--I have subscribed.
