Day 36- Tuesdays with Lou- What is Beauty? What is Detox? Why Are We Doing This?

Lowanna starts a very interesting discussion about detox, beauty, and why we are doing this. What a great video. Get more water into your diet. Get more oxygen into your diet. Do it today! LIVE for Pleasure.

Sorry I wasn't available for video on Saturday or Monday. Honestly, I just didn't have it in me. Some days I get discouraged. Not by the lifestyle I have chosen, but by the obstacles that sometimes distract my vision and true focus. I have been sad. But I have had resolve in my raw food lifestyle. I no longer go directly to food for pleasure, as Lou talks about in today's video. I have been going inward. Praying, digging deep into myself to make sure I have the willingness to actually live the life I have chosen for myself. And I do. I am willing. I am able. I can do anything as long as I believe in myself and love myself enough.

And so can you,
Bunny

Thank you for this! It sure enough makes sense! The iodine foods are some that I need to start eaing because of having an untreated slow thyroid. I am not taking the pills because I am so mad at my self for letting myself get into this shape! Plus, I do not have enough money for doctors, and no insurance! Even more reason to go raw! LOL! Anyway, what was the third food that you mentioned after the nori rolls? The crinkling bag was too loud on the video, and I could not read the words on the bag. Nori rolls taste bad to me when I tried a raw rap recipee, but I guess they are the same thing that I like in the chinese restaurant rolled with rice and carrots. I do not know why they would taste good with cooked food, but not raw food!?? Hmmm!

Thank you Lou and Bunny too!

I made it back to day 3 of my "new life" here in Portland and my day 2 of 100% raw again! My finances are really tight but I just got a little help today, actually because of Bunny's urging us to ask our credit card companies for help. It looks like I will be getting some help. So I'm going to subscribe to RawFu magazine today. I hope that cheers you up just a teensy bit Bunny--you've certainly cheered me up more than once over the past7-8 months since I discovered this site.

Lowanna, thanks for the great post on seaweed, why do we detox and what is beauty. It did remind me to live for pleasure not eat for pleasure.

I'm doing green smoothies as they are fairly economical, satisfying and don't trigger all my food cravings *knock knock*

love,
cindy

Lou: You've got me smiling thinking about my beautiful spleen, gallbladder and liver. :)

I really like what you said about living for pleasure vs. eating for pleasure. My goal is to give my body the opportunity to feel it's very best as I turn 40. I want to give it every advantage instead of letting it succomb to every ailment that comes it's way. I had grown accustomed to the aching joints, sore muscles, sleepless nights, extra weight, feeling tired all the time. I feel like by getting things back in balance, by eating the best way for me, by getting exercise, fresh air, experiencing joy and peace I will be living my best life.

I already see that eating this way may open the door to experiencing life more fully.

P.S. You are looking so angelic! Glowing from the inside out!

Lou, thank you for sharing this. I like to hear about how the body is always doing its best, and it makes me feel like I want to support it rather than get in its way. The only problem I have is that the body is so effective and resilient and quick to heal that I think I can give myself some slack... Haven't yet, and probably is the voice of the addiction. I agree with Bunny that it is all about self-love. Also on beauty - if I'm in a high spiritual state everyone is beautiful, so trying to become beautiful for others is pretty hopeless - it truly is in each person's eyes, depending on each's life choices.

Fabu video, Lowanna! What wise words. It does help me very much to hear your words and to think about eating to nourish the body and living for pleasure.

I love the image of my organs getting more beautiful and my blood juicier and more clean, with every health-filled thing I eat.

I just received the spring issue of Get Fresh!, and here's to great minds thinking alike:

Your external beauty is at its best when your internal organs are in the best possible shape, consistency, and colour. Beautiful is not something extra the body needs: to be beautiful both inside and out is the natural state of one's body. The vitality of internal organs, working properly, transcends your skin and brings a radiance to your face. This is when beauty does penetrate the skin. So when we admire sparkling eyes, fabulous skin and lustruous hair, in a way we are admiring the teamwork of a healthy liver, colon, kidneys and so on.

Your natural beauty just shines thru more & more...I'm enjoying watching the transformation. I loved what you said about the more natural something is the more beautiful. That's SO TRUE!!!! Never thought of it in that way. That got me to thinkin' of how truly beautiful our bodies & innermost being can be if we just eat the way God originally intended.

I'm really enjoying your videos & what you have to say. When it's over I'm thinking...over already?

Hi Sally
The last one was wakame seeweed. My suggestion is if your not such a fan of dulse etc...put it in your green smoothies. You can taste it a bit but its more salty and knowing how good it is makes it taste better too ;o)
I adore nori rolls, ages back when we had not been raw long but were totally addicted to sushi. I made these nori rolls and my partner was thinking, no way these are just not going to stack up to what we had before..but with nama shoyu as a dipping and vegies he loves them you can even add tahini in the wrap which is yum...really I dont miss the old as these taste stronger. Here the link to the 1st ones we made....try these and let me know...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obdbUF6B6ZU

Spirulina is also good to add to your diet sea-algae and great in smoothies and high in B12 which vegans seem to lack.

Thanks for the questions and your comments, I love them! Thanks for being patient too ;o) Love 2u xxx
