Eyesight starts to decline after age 40, unless you're a raw vegan. My eyesight has never been as sharp and clear as it is since I've gone raw. The human body needs those 20,000 chemicals, nutrients and enzymes found in fresh fruits and vegetables.
It wasn't clear what Gypsy is currently eating. It sounds like she isn't completely a raw vegan, or she's trying to become one? Dabbling maybe? Gastric bypass is something I could never recommend for a person. I'm constantly studying the health and diet connection. You end up cutting into the body, placing foreign objects into the body, and restricting food intake. If you aren't eating fully raw, the body needs to eat much more food to get the nutrients it needs.
A person with gastic bypass is malnourished and actually less healthy than someone who is morbidly obese.
It's VERY difficult to convince people to totally change their diet. Then to get them to stay on that for life.
There is only one choice I can personally advise, and that's to go exclusively raw. Absolutely no cooked food, no processed food, and no milk/dairy/cheese. Only fresh fruits, vegetables, and raw nuts. I wish I had a kinder, gentler way to approach this. But I really want people to have perfect health. She HAS to be exclusively raw. Any other option would seem to either make matters worse, or simply delay the inevitable. Throw out the bad food now. You can't worry about hurt feelings when a life is at stake.
