100 Day Raw Food Challenge

Hi everyone,
Can you have watered down fresh nut milk while doing a juice fast? I love a chai mint drink that I make with fresh nut or seed milk and lots of water and was going to try having that first thing to ease me into the morning, then continuing the day with fresh juice...anybody know if it is ok to have nut or seed milk while doing a juice fast? I also am having a glass of fresh coconut water instead of juice mid afternoon...everything is fresh...is that ok too? Tomorrow was going to actually juice the coconut meat instead of freezing it for future raw ice cream. I have never read any discussions on whether to avoid or it's ok to include these items while doing a juice fast...
Thanks a bunch :)

Great idea...the nutrients in the cacao would be great and it seriously is better than a coffee habit that is hard to break :) Thanks for the tip! The coconut water was so darn smooth and sweet today, a truly special treat :)

Thanks Bitt, Just trying to give my body a break so I can keep on the raw food wagon more easily. Ever since the holidays, I have been sliding a bit on what I eat, and gained a few pounds from it. I am having fresh vegetable with greens and fresh fruit with greens juices throughout the rest of the day, so I guess the chai drink would be sort of a fill-in instead of water or an herbal tea (although it is made with mostly water and a tiny bit of mint, nuts and spices). I guess my main question is, do nut or seed milks cause a slowing of the cleansing process if not combined with fruits or vegetables? Would they be categorized as a no-no for a juice fast...

Kidkaras, the drink was from goneraw.com.I didn't know if I was aloud to post recipes from other sites or not without permission, but here's the link so you can go there and grab yourself a great little recipe :) Taste it and alter it, I always add more spices...and I also pour it thru a nut-milk bag to get rid of ALL spice and nuts that have not been pulverized by the vitamix, or you might end up with a mouth of spice which was not a fun thing first time around ;)

Fats take longer to digest than fruits and most (all?) veggies, so you will not cleanse quite as much as if you had fruits and veggies only, but if it helps keep you from eating worse things, that's a good thing. Like Bitt said, it's all about your goals. I wouldn't get stuck on the rules for juice feasting, but focus more on what you want and what will help you get there. Now, if I could only take my own advice more often--ha! :-)

I think that sounds great! Some people believe that having no fats is an important part of a juice fast, but I think it's just making nutrients more available. When I juice fasted, I had raw cacao nut milks with agave every morning!

im in the middle of a juice feast, and nutmilk is not fruit or vegetable juice, so i would have to say no, i am also dying for some, but nuts are also difficult to digest, even though it is just the milk if you are going to do this feast might as well do it right, :)
