100 Day Raw Food Challenge

I've recently (in the last few days) had a kick in the face medical/health wise which has forced me to get serious with everything I've been talking about for the last year or so but not really doing. I'm getting my ass into gear this weekend mulching our veggie patch so that I can have a veggie patch FULL of lushes, water-rich greens. What were you favourite recipes staring out on the green smootie path?

One of my favorite green smoothie recipes when I have access to a blender:
(it's more like a milkshake.) Eat with a spoon ...

1 avocado (ripe)
1 lime (peeled)
2 cups baby spinach
1 cucumber (peeled if not organic)
a few ice cubes
organic coconut milk (add as needed for consistency)
a pinch of cinnamon
agave or stevia - sweeten to taste (a little goes a long way)
handful of peas shoots if you have them (they are sweet protein)

Serve with shredded raw coconut sprinkled on top. Enjoy!

=optional to add (but not beginner):
1 shot of E3Live or 1tsp dried or 1oz fresh wheatgrass juice
(you'll taste them less if you toss in a few mint leaves) *or just down the shot and then drink the smoothie!

I'm a big fan of spinach, cucumber, green apple. Such a pretty color of green. And you can add parsley or cilantro!

Mine are currently heavy on pears, cranberries, grapefruit juice (because the pith makes it bitter), orange juice, coconut water, ginger, little pineapple, baby greens and water. Hi fall.

For beginners, I highly recommend spinach and a sweet fruit. Spinach and a frozen banana if a great way to
start.

a few leaves of rainbow chard
a few ice cubes

2 kiwis...had to use cause they were ripe!
1/4 avocado
cinnamon
stevia
sprinkle of dried coconut on top

Here's my go to smoothie recipe...easy peasy which means I'll actually make it :)

Big handful spinach
8 oz Water or Almond milk
1 frozen banana
A couple TBSP coconut flakes

Sometimes I'll throw in some chia seeds and/or cacao nibs too.

I just throw in whatever's in the fridge, on the ledge, maybe some frozen blueberries...& LOTSa cinnamon (to help reverse my diabetes) & about 60-80% greens! (Took me awhile to work up to that much, but now any less tastes waaaay too sweet to me!)
My favorite lately is the meat & water of a young coconut, pineapple, & TONS of spinich (a maybe a little parsley!)

Hope your health issues are quickly & easily resoplved...let us know if there's anything we can do to help along the way!

I recommend putting a few bananas that are ripe into the freezer, so that you have frozen bananas to make smoothies with. The creaminess is mmmmm. And don't be afraid to add a little vanilla or pumpkin pie spice, or cacao nibs, or coconut flakes. Smoothies are for FUN!

Ohhhhh....now that should be a tee shirt.
