I bought MSM powder, because I think it could be useful for my hair and my knees. But I found it so awful bitter that I can't drink it only with water. Also I don't want to ruin delicious smoothies with it.
Does anyone know something that covers the taste of MSM?

What kind of MSM did you get? (Brand wise) I have some powder and it is completly tasteless in water. I have a half a tsp in the morning and half at night.

This is what I do. I've got brand new hair! I don't measure it anymore, I just poor in what I think is about a teaspoon, sometimes even in a pitcher of water.

If you use too much, it tastes really bad. Start with half a teaspoon in 8-16 oz of water. Add lemon with that, and you won't taste it at all. Gradually increase the dosage until you get it as high as you like. I don't think you can take too much of it.

I put it in green tea w/lemon. It's bitter anyway so the MSM doesn't make much difference. Believe it or not, you actually get used to it. I'm up to a tablespoon now. I don't think I would put it in a smoothie either.

Adding lots of squeezed lemon juice will help!

I worked my way up to mixing 1T MSM with 32oz water and a lemon juice from 1/2 to 1 whole lemon, and I could not take the MSM.

Just slowly work your way up. 3tsp=1T

i got my recipe from Dory -- she said to start with 1 teaspoon added to one liter of water plus 1/2 a lemon juiced -- MSM is enhanced and works better with the addition of vitamin C -- then every week add another teaspoon -- i was up to 2 tablespoons for about a month -- then i started to get gaggy which means (well to me) my body didnt need as much -- so i dropped it down to 1 1/2 T and when i started to get gaggy again after a while i dropped down to a heaping T and thats where i m at right now

if i forget for a day or 2 my hands and knees start to ache -- so i try never to forget -- hope that helps

I'm not sure about the brand, but it's pure MSM. So I think it must be caused by our different senses of taste that for some people it's bitter and for others not.

I just put in in a small glass (4oz) of water and drink it down -- as if it were a shot if whiskey! Then I chase it with my favorite fruit smoothie!

I've had MSM in my cabinet for a few months. Every time I drink it I want to puke! Maybe I will try it with some lemon juice. Thank you for the ideas!

Instead of lemons I tried a teaspoon full of MSM in a glass of fresh orange juice - it was only a little bit bitter and seems to harmonize with the taste of the oranges :)
