Raw Fu

100 Day Raw Food Challenge

I'm hoping this is one of those 'female hormone cyclical deals' but for the past few days I've been a bottomless pit.

No more are the days when I could self righteously proclaim how a green smoothie magically tided me over for hours. Tonight I demolished 4 boiled eggs, cauliflower, probably 5 servings of my normal treat (cacao mooshed w/goji berries and coconut oil), and plenty of dehydrated crackers. Peanut butter, apple and God knows what else.

I could make kale chips but I know I'll eat the entire batch if I do, leaving me once again with no prepared food for lunch.

Now the weird thing is our local raw teacher gave me the following advice during a cooking class: overeat. Yep, she is a tiny little thing but said when she and Angela Stokes were at Gabriel Cousens center they both loaded up their trays big time. Now they eat very little.

Anyway if anyone is pigging out lately you are in good company. It's like my body is screaming 'I want to put on some FAT'. And I know exactly where it's going: My backside!

worry not girl, I never stop eating, as in never... & since going raw I am still losing very slowly very slowly lbs. & ins. I am small already & I never am without food in my mouth except to work out then come right back & eat more. for me I believe it is a schycological issue but the point is I do not think it will hurt.
good luck

Sometimes my body goes through this too. It feels like it needs a good FEEDING. And so I just feed it. Try making huge salads. HUGE with some avocado. Mmmmm.

Well it was a good excuse to haul out my Jillian Michaels Blast Fat Boost Metabolism DVD and burn some calories at 2 am!

I think I'm going to drink more water too. I mean my appetite has been ridiculous.

Yeah, sometimes the hunger signals are thirsty signals. Just keep it water rich, and EAT! :)

I get this way - okay, it's often more of an everyday thing for me. Heehee! A couple of times it has gone away when I took LOADS of a good liquid mineral supplement, so I figured I must just be needing nutrients, and my body keeps asking for food as long as it needs nutrients. I agree - don't worry too much. And maybe try making a triple (or bigger!) batch of kale chips AND a big smoothie AND whatever else you can think of - I've had to learn to make LOTS of food (usually at least twice as much as I think I should need) in order to not run out.

I do as many kale chips as I can fit in my 9 tray and I scarf them down - those suckers are addictive.

I really do need to make 'extra' because never having anything for lunch gets old. i'm just afraid if I make a triple batch I'll eat the whole thing in one sitting - i'm kinda like that :)

Me, too - that's why I added the (or bigger) batch. You inspired me to make my leftover kale salad into chips - we'll see how it turns out. Anyhow, you're in good company. Green juice is another thing that HELPS me feed my voracious appetite, but even that doesn't stop me from eating. People do juice feasting, drinking a gallon or more of green juice in a day. I drank a gallon by mid-afternoon and then still needed to eat 3 meals. (I normally eat 6 meals in a day.) Just make what you like - to binge on Cheetos wouldn't likely be helpful, but eating loads of kale can't be too bad for you, right? :)

Matt Monarch and Angela Stokes both said they ate a lot when they first went raw. Matt ate this humoungus salad every day w/several huge avocados - he said this went on for several years.

Make you wonder if the body is trying to desperately make up for a nutritional deficiency. Maybe those expensive superfoods aren't so bad at all - at least you get more bang for you calories :)

I remember going through a period a few years ago (the first year I was on this journey) where I actually got tired of eating and was frustrated by being hungry & having to eat so much all the time. I was really upset about it for a while. Now I'm just used to planning ahead & making LOTS of food. :)

Yes especially since making raw food can be time intensive it just seems never ending.

Yeah - I've got several easy-to-make recipes under my belt now so I can whip things together instead of taking all day to make one day's worth of food. :) I like making things like avocado pudding, nut-based shakes, nacho sauce, taco filling, huge salads (ready-to-eat Spring Mix + avo + simple dressing)...mostly I like anything I can blend for a couple of minutes and it is ready to eat & full of nutrition + calories. No more raw lasagnas for me! :)

Me too with my 5 tray! But I usually only get about a 1/2 of my out of the hydrator, because I'm eating them as they dry, and what I do get is usually gone in like 2 days!! Great for the bowels!
