100 Day Raw Food Challenge

Today I talk about my ever sluggish gallbladder, and reach out for advice from anyone who has had gallbladder issues in the past, or done successful gallbladder flushes. My ears are WIDE OPEN!

I also wanted to share some good news today about my J O B situation. I've been focusing so much, and sending out so much positive energy during my goal setting sessions, and it's starting to really pay off! Yippee! I'm so stoked to see what is going to happen in all areas of our lives over the next 3 months. I think it's going to be mind blowing.

Ouchy, but Happy!

hi bunny! I AM NOT A DOCTOR! THIS IS NOT ADVICE! THIS IS JUST ME SHARING SOMETHING I'VE DONE BEFORE! If anyone has any medical questions about the safety of this, they should consult a qualified health care practitioner.

here's how i did it once ::

I did 3 days of a juice fast, with NO roughage at all. APPLES made up a large portion of the juice every day (I mixed with celery etcetera to avoid too much fruit sugar. i like apple, mint, ginger, celery, lemon/lime!!!!)

on the night I initiated the flush, 1 mixed 1/2 cup of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice with 1/2 cup of organic olive oil, plus 1 tbs. magnesium citrate - this helps to OPEN the gall bladder duct to ensure large stones can pass. I stirred these things together and drank them down.

I then slept on my left side to help the stuff come out. I cleared my schedule the next morning, and found a large amount of stuck old bile and stones coming out the next morning.

Blessings!
Laura

I definitely have a bile build up. I get the bile burps. Oh so pleasant! Thanks for sharing your experience, Laura!

Ok so where does this hurt Bunny? I keep getting (off and on) pain in my lower right side of the abdomen. I've had my doc check and nothing the matter that he could find. Thought maybe it was onions or garlic bothering me but now you've got me wondering if it hasn't been the nuts. Darn!

And our doggies eat raw and never had the teeth cleaning done. Never needed it. Just a thought.

No problem with heart worms or such they don't even need pesticides for fleas since going raw 5 years ago! They eat raw hamburger or chicken everyday. (they still get some meat based, no grain kibble too but they do not eat too much of that).

peace :)

hey bunny.

i know how miserable your gallbladder can be. i had to have mine removed nearly 8yrs ago. the only advice i have is a zero fat diet. for a while, i was scared to eat period. you should see the doctor too. i let it go on for about a year, with no doctor. it spreads to your pancreas. you don't need surgery, they give you ultrasound to see the status. then they can dissolve the gallstones laproscopically. you don't want to let it go mama. it will be much worse trust me. and if you need emergency surgery, you get a huge scar. which means longer recovery. laproscpically done, you will have 4 tiny 1/4in incisions. and stomach muscle pain. like doing a billion sit ups. but it eases after a day or so.

either way you decide to go, good luck to you.
take care.

Make sure you don't eat too much fat in one sitting. Before going raw I ate out at a restaurant w/ country fried steak, mashed potaotes & gravy, biscuit, and topped it of with cheesecake for dessert. OMG, sounds crazy to think I ate like that now! However, I was in absolute pain throughout the night. I couldn't work the next day. One of my clients was an MD and asked me to describe what I was feeling (almost like a heart attack). He asked what I ate the day before and told me I was experiencing a gallbladder attack. He said too much fat in any one day will cause it. So, I am sure to keep the fat under control now. Just thought I'd pass that along for preventative measures.

Hi, sweetie! Man oh man ... you get the gold medal for patience in the midst of trials, sister!! You also get many kudos from me for recognizing the source and cause of your pain. You go, girl! Not many people have learned to listened to their body that well. Being able to hear your body asking for help is a huge gift!

Ok, I'm not a huge fan of the extreme liver/gallbladder cleanse that's touted by so many people, mainly because most people don't go through the 1-2 month protocol that should precede the flush itself. Not doing the complete protocol can cause large stones to be passed which can seriously damage the bile duct. That is not fun and can create even worse issues.

I love the simple, gentle flush that Laura shared. I advise that, before doing the simple flush, folks start by taking 175 mg Milk Thistle, 250 mg Dandelion extract, and 500-900 mg Chanca Piedra three times per day for at least one month before doing any type of gallbladder flush. Those three herbs are known to powerfully cleanse and regenerate the liver, support the gallbladder, and help the body naturally break down and eliminate gallstones. There is also a product called Stone Free, by Planetary Herbals, that is miraculous. Using it eliminates the need to take many different herbs. I love this product because it's quick and easy to use but is VERY effective. It's usually the first thing I recommend to my clients with gallbladder issues before we move on to anything else.

If you want to do a gentle flush, wait 1 month after starting a herbal regimen. Then blend 1 tbs of olive oil with 1 tbs organic lemon juice morning and evening in a little water for two weeks. Then blend 2 tbs of each morning and evening for 3 weeks. Then graduate to 3 tbs of each am/pm for 3 more weeks. Doing that typically results in stones being softened and passed. Some people may not need to do this type of flush if they already did the herbal regimen, but some like to do both to make sure their gallbladder is as clean as possible.

After the intense herbal regimen, taking Dandelion & Milk Thistle two times per day will help support the liver and gallbladder and prevent future problems.

I feel for you, hon. Keep us posted on how you're doing! Good luck!

A coffee enema can make a sluggish gallbladder sing.

If you have gallstones or think you might, you might not want to take this approach. The same goes for oral gallbladder flushes, such as the one described by Laura.

If you're interested in coffee enemas, I can give you the protocol. They are administered differently than "regular" enemas.

Ugh, you struck a nerve with this one. My 18-year-old daughter is scheduled for gallbladder removal in 12 days. She has multiple gallstones and had to be hospitalized in June. They have no idea why she has gallstones (18 years old, 115 pounds, otherwise healthy vegetarian) but the surgeon recommended that she have her GB removed because she has so many stones. He is worried that next time she might develop pancreatitis. Of course the surgery carries its own list of risks...

I talked to Sarah about doing a flush or a juice fast, but she's not really interested, she just wants to go forward with the surgery. She is 18 and it's her body, so it's her decision. I hope you get your GB issues resolved, Bunny. Sarah has been in a lot of pain with hers.

Good luck!

Bunny, if you're in pain, the first thing I'd do is get yourself several quarts or more of apple juice. In a pinch, it really doesn't matter what kind of apple juice since we're just trying to get the malic acid to soften any stones or gravel in the GB. Wait until your stomach is empty then drink as much as you want. Every few hours repeat.

(This is just neighborly advice, btw, not medical of course. ;))

HOT CASTOR Packs: Then I'd get my hot water bottle out, saran wrap, wool or cotton material and castor oil. Put the castor oil generously all over your abdomen particularly on the right front. Cover with the wool or cotton then wrap your whole waist (not too tight) several times around with the saran wrap. Put a hot hot water bottle over that then wrap in a towel and lie down for as long as you can.

From that point you should start feeling a lot better. More info and a little planning to do the series of gallbladder flush protocols such as in Andrea Moritz book I think it's called something like the Amazing (or Miracle) Liver Gallbladder Flush.

Call me if you need someone to walk you through anything and I can email you the protocol I've done it for years without realizing that once a year is not enough. So, thx to some extra info from Moritz, now I'm doing a whole series sort of every six weeks until their all gone. Ask me about this if you need this info.

love,
cindy aka rawprincess954

Stop drinking coffee ( i think I have suggested this before) start drinking dandelion coffeee or chicory roasted and ground to taste, easy and cheaper than coffee, bought at the health food shop or just roast our own !! :)

Also cider vinegar and honey helps, and olive oil beofre your go to bed.

Other tonics are dandelion and burdock as a drink, and staying off bad fats and nuts.

Hope that helps..the worst thing is COFFEE its a devil for the liver and gallbladder..PLEASE BUNNY chuck it out of your life like the Coka cola which was doing the same thing...

Hugs xx

I do a Liver flush four times a year and pass at least 100 bean size stones. There is a lot of controversy over whether these are gall stone. This is serendipity because a close friend of mine had her gall bladder removed two days ago. Two others had theirs removed in May and my twin sister had hers removed last September. My doctor told me in december I should have mine removed. I fired her. Gall bladder surgery today, is what Tonsil surgery was when I was a kid.
