Raw Fu

100 Day Raw Food Challenge

I went vegan January 5th, 2008. Although i felt much better than i had previously eating meat, i was still consuming lots of bread and vegan treats. My initial weight dropped from 147lbs to 134lbs, but i was still unhappy with my body.
My aunt introduced me to raw foods in march of 2008. I stayed 100% raw for a few months before i started to crave my old vegan treats, and i fell off the wagon.
Now, i have successfully been 95% raw for 6 months and i feel fantastic!
My only indulgence is soy milk, which i thoroughly enjoy.
The before pictures are when i weighed 134lbs
The after picture is me at 125lbs, my goal!

Ps: I'm 5'8, in case anyone was wondering!

No problem! I'm happy to help. You can do anything you put your mind to, you just have to focus on the positive. Congratulate yourself on every step you take in the right direction and don't get yourself down on little mishaps.
I could never figure out how people eat so little either. I've always enjoyed eating, quite a bit. When i realized i can eat as much as i want on raw, i was ecstatic!
Any time you need support or tips i'm here!
And, right back at you!

I found a picture taken 4 days before i read skinny bitch and went vegan, at 147lbs. I remember that night i drank a whole lot and ate large amounts of cheesecake.

Ha, oh my goodness, i would kill to have your BEFORE body, ha. your crazy. :) :)

I'm just new here, so looking through everyones before/after pics, they are so amazing.... i'll have to know how this Challenge i hear everyone talking about works....I really want to lose about 22lbs (10kgs), and have been trying for a couple of years now - have been on/off raw since November 08, did 2months of nearly 100%, but after going on a holiday with friends, and running out of my raw food VERY quickly....started eating SAD diet food again, and lost the raw effect from there.......guts! havn't been able to stick to it since...so probably only doing about 60% raw..... bah.

Anyway, your looking so amazing and healthy and happy! Congratulations. :)

Lol. Well thank you!
My problem wasn't with my before body, the issues i was having about my weight had to do with the fact that i weight train 3 days a week, run 3 days a week, do kick boxing, pilates, and mountain biking and i still couldn't get my weight to budge. I couldn't understand why i didn't have a much slimmer body.
Believe me, even though there are constant ups and downs (I didn't find a regime that fit my lifestyle until i had been raw off and on for almost a year) it is more than worth it. If you're having problems when you run out of raw food, i would advise that you stick with vegan in these situations, it's bound to be much healthier than munching on something like Mcdonalds.
If you need any advice, recipes, or anything of the sort, don't hesitate to ask!
Good luck :)

I think that you look fantastic. Agreeing with everyone else, your before picture looks great but just 10 pounds less you look just right and you have a nice glow to you. It took me quite awhile to afford a vitamix. Before I did get one I made smoothies with my 15 dollar walgreens blender. I also have a mandolin (sp) I bought at Bed bath and Beyond for 15 dollars (the money sign on my keyboard doesn't work).

I had severe eczema on my face, which right under my eyes and on my nose would have dry skin, then the dry skin would have to be constantly pealed off or it would clog my pores. I started having hormonal problems which contributed to the acne on my chin ( chin acne always has to do with hormonal stuff). I took tumeric capsules, which reduces inflammation and improves cellular restoration. MSM which repairs scar tissue and improves and regenerates collagen, and the most important thing I took was extra virgin coconut oil, I ate it in smoothies..a TBSP once or twice a day, and at night I rubbed coconut oil on my face and other places I had skin problems, and washed it in the morning. I hope this helped ! if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them.
