Raw Fu

100 Day Raw Food Challenge

Hey yall.. can you please share your tips on how to be raw on a budget? So far I found this book called Frugal Raw.. http://mattyeleesvegankitchen.blogspot.com/2008/02/mattyes-dolmas-f...

There area a couple of recipes on there I am going to try and see if I can find the ingredients. I get discouraged on doing a lot of raw un-cooking because I know that I can't afford it right now.

I found this link online and I am so impressed with the amount of tips that people posted about how to be raw on a budget. Check it out: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=22555&highlight=raw...

I went to the store today and I'm excited about how much raw stuff I bought for less than $60. It'll last for the next couple of weeks if not longer. That's definitely more than I should be spending, but considering I plan not to eat out or buy that other junk, I'm probably saving money.

To keep costs down, I'm sticking to a lot of simple stuff. Lots of green smoothies, fruits, salads, some cooked vegan dishes, like chili (I'm not 100%)... stuff like that. Although it's still a bit boring, it's better than no food :P I'm sure there are a lot more creative dishes out there mind you, that aren't overly costly.

Cool link. I've never thought of buying crates of oranges or carrots...some of the co-op houses do that, and it must really save them. maybe getting together with some other people to buy say a big crate of oranges or carrots would save in the long run. my roommate buys lots of stuff from sam's club (rice, nuts, vitamins) but I don't know if I trust their quality. i dunno...i've never been to one.
