I am not diabetic but my husband is on a pump. His diabetes is exacerbated by the meds he has to take for his Addison's disease. We have been experimenting with raw for only about 2 weeks now but his sugar has already stabilized to the point he has rarely had to bolus. I am excited to see what others have to say about the effects of eating raw.

Is anyone aware of this movie called Here We Grow......... "In this 65-minute film, Craig, a natural foods chef and entrepreneur, explores the current state of our food supply and seeks to educate people about living healthier, more wholesome lives through socially responsible food choice`

Hi, Kimbopaloopa! I'm also on a pump and have been a Type 1 for over 42 years. I'm down to anywhere from 4-12 units per day depending on what I eat. I'm 100% raw and won't go back to anything else.

It IS possible to go raw on a limited income. Our grocery bills actually went down after we went raw. I recommend transitioning into it, but it can be done. I promise! It's great to see you here. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions at all. God bless!

Hi, Wave! Colonics shouldn't affect your bloodsugars, but will DEFINITELY help with your detox symptoms and cravings! I highly recommend them!

Wave - I've never had a colonic. I've done enemas and never noticed anything different blood-sugar wise, but a colonic may be different...an experienced hydrotherapist would probably be able to answer your questions about it.

I live in Utah. Type 1, 8 1/2 years. Raw plant foods + raw cheese + cooked meat & eggs (all-natural only) most of the last 4 1/2 years. I have a son who doesn't eat raw, so I make 2 meals (or 3, or 4...I eat a lot! :D). Insulin pump. Endocrinologist. Green veggie juice (but it took me 2 - 3 years of raw before I got to doing the green juice). I think I'll be doing better now that I have gotten the agave out of my diet. I traced a LOT of insulin-resistance problems to when I started using agave. I've been back to the diet I described, with no agave, for 10 days or so, and I feel better than I have felt since before I ever tried agave. We'll see what happens from here! Yes, definitely curious!

I am thinking about getting another colonics done to help me with my detox....do you think colonics affect intake of sugar levels ?

Thank you Angie!..... Are you type 1 or 2! Are you on insulin? Needles or a pump? Do you have a Doc who is a specialist (endocrinologist)? How are you doing on Raw diet? Do you juice? Do you have a family that are willing to eat Raw as well or do you have to make two meals? How long have you been diabetic? Where do you live? I see you are of the curious persuasion .......as am I.......
