Hey Everyone, glad to be a part of such a cool group and site... I just joined and happy to see all the interests in fitness.. I just recently got my cert to teach group fitness from Afaa, and have already started teaching at a local gym. It is so fun and challenging. I am learning about the raw food diet and practicing at a slow pace, but it is so smart to eat this way that it is hard to ignore. I am a beginner in the raw world but have been exercising for about 10 years now. I hope to make some friends here!!

Hey,

I'm a longtime vegan (7 years) who just got into raw in a serious way. I have been into yoga for the past 7 years but have not achieved anywhere near the flexibility I have just attained in the past 14 days or so. I also have more energy to do longer vinyasa. AMAZING!

I'm also interested in some long-distance running and cycling.

I guess my main question would be what your diets are like. Do you find yourselves "bulking up" on nuts and avocados? Or, if you've been raw for a while, does that desire to eat a bunch of fatty foods disappear?

This past two weeks, I've been going through a ton of salads also!

Hi all,
I just joined this group. I'm a runner and have been raw for 3 months now (vegan for 14 months, previous to that I was omni). I have been running for a good 2 years now, did a half-marathon and a marathon last year and a few fun runs all the way through.
Since becoming raw I have run a 7km road race (31:35min) and am currently training for an off-road 18km race (very hilly course).
Contrary to most people's beliefs I have no problems whatsoever running long distances on a raw food diet, so I am quite stoked about that (and about proving them wrong hehe).

Besides running I love dancing and yoga. Unfortunately the last month has been very busy with uni and work so I didn't attend any dance or yoga classes but am planning to get back into it asap.

I look forward to exchanging ideas, tips and support in this group.

Greetings from Wellington, NZ

Good evening Cindy, I just noticed that you responded to my comment. :) Thanks for your encouragement. I have yet to start a work out program for various reasons which sound great to me but bottom line is that there is no excuse worthy of taking the place of taking care of oneself. But none the less...I commented on the 80/10/10 group that I have this odd fear of working out, yet I crave to want to do work out. This isn't what is keeping me from my work outs but it lays dormant on the back of my noggin. Whats the fear? Oddly enough, gaining weight! lol Is my brain wacky or what. But let me try to explain, if at all possible. First of all my body doesn't respond in a timely fashion to working out, I am a slooooow muscle developer and very flabby, it could be that I have never known the proper way to tone and build muscle, but I seem to stay flabby for a long time. Secondly, when I do work out, my appetite increases. Which I read is of the norm, but I then tend to overeat. When I was working out, I only seemed to get thicker rather then smaller (and I am not going my the scale, for I know muscle weighs more than fat) So, my default is to stop working out and juice fast till I feel thinner and flabbier. lol I know this isn't the answer.....but there ya have it. Thoughts? Do I sound like a metal case? My goal is to one day run a mini marathon or do mini tri-athalons, but I just don't can't seem to get myself there or heck, even started.

I love to exercise but haven't been as consistent as I'd like to be. Welcome Amie Sue I'm just getting back into jogging with a 5K in mind (my first).

I also enjoy the body pump workout classes at the gym.

Right now I'm juice feasting so experimenting with what exercise works best on any given day. Today, for example I only did 15 minutes on the elliptical but got a massage and took a hot bath instead

I could do much more as I am becoming more energetic and limber and have lost some of that holiday bloat. Message me anytime Amie Sue. Good luck with your workouts and your raw foods.

Hello everyone! I am new to this site and I am so excited to find a support team such as this. I have been a high percent of raw for the past 8 months. I am craving to get into shape to where I can do mini marathons and or tri-athalons. I really need a support team for this and I look forward in getting to know you all. Have a great evening, Amie Sue

Haa damn right we're athletes Christine;). We workout plenty. I myself enjoy running very much and various exercise classes such as pilates, and belly dancing- currently doing those now. I also LOVE yoga- I find it relaxes me like nothing. My mom and I are going to be doing a cardio kickboxing class sooon! But my main thing is running- lovve it!!:D

'ello all! :) Thought I'd check you guys out since I work out like 2 hours a day and schtuff lol... I don't feel it really makes me an athlete but one of my fitness instructors tried to coerce me into do a 5 km running race... which I am actually considering... and I've done triathlons in the past, was a competitive swimmer for like 4-ish years... now I mostly do a lot of step and kick boxing-type classes... :) Anyway, despite my two hour a day regiment, I didn't start becoming truly awesome with my workouts (I really had to push despite my enjoyment... there was always something that I just didn't feel really strong I guess..), since I went raw, I've had no trouble whatsoever with workouts and am often bouncing around AFTER the two hours is up. :P

So nice to meet you all! My sister joining raw fu was actually the one to inspire me to check this group out so I thought I would. ;)
