100 Day Raw Food Challenge

I thought this would be a good idea for people to post their favorite workouts, so others can get some new ideas! I'm always looking to change up my workouts and keep my muscles guessing what's coming next, so if you're like me, post away!

My favorite workout is moderately intense on the stair master. It's 25 minutes of work and 5 minutes cool down. Of course, it can range from 5 minutes to 45 minutes or more if you're up for it! The machine I use ranges in effort level from 1 to 25, and I know a lot of steppers have different ranges, so hopefully you can figure it out! Here it goes..

0-2 min. - level 3
2-4 min. - level 6
4-5 min. - level 8
5-7 min. - level 4
7-9 min. - level 8
9-10 min. - level 10
10-12 min. - level 5
12-14 min. - level 10
14-15 min. - level 12
15-17 min. - level 6
17-19 min. - level 12
19-20 min. - level 14
20-22 min. - level 7
22-24 min. - level 14
24-25 min. - level 16
25-26 min. - level 10
26-27 min. - level 8
27-28 min. - level 6
28-29 min. - level 4
29-30 min. - level 2

This interval workout has been working great for me. In 30 minutes it burns roughly 260 calories, and since it is interval training it is also burning more fat. I find that changing my effort level more often keeps me more distracted and makes the workout seem shorter and I don't get as bored!

I love to do exercise videos first thing in the morning. I've done over 400 in the past 10 years and my favorites are probably Cathe Friedrich's step workouts, Yoga (by Erich Schiffman, Baron Baptiste, or Tilak Pyle), and Pilates (either Ana Caban or Hilary Burnett -- I like one by Niedra Gabriel). I guess it's too hard for me to come up with just one favorite! (I like working with weights with either Cathe or Debbie Siebers too). -- Renee

I have to say I am loving the Wii Fit Running and Wii Fit Hula Hooping. Especially here in the cold north east!

Hiking sand dunes ranging from 100-450ft. I love to climb up and down and through slowly, then run as fast as I can down them crashing at the bottom. Then I walk the shore of Lake Michigan.

When I'm not playing in nature, I like to do yoga, dance, strength train, and trail bike.

Total body circuits work well to get my heart rate up and are easy to get through without boardom because the exercise performed is always changing. I've been doing circuits lately.

With Spring gracing us, I'll be taking advanttage of those outdoor workouts much more....the plan is to upgrade the running and biking miles followed by some weekend adventure hikes.

I love running outside, and now that nice sunny weather has FINALLY reached Boston, I am back to my one-hour runs through the parks and the busy city streets. I'd of course much prefer to run in a field or a forest where there are no traffic lights to slow me down, but ya do whacha gotta do! ;)
