100 Day Raw Food Challenge

Replies to This Discussion

Hi! I know this is an old post but it caught my eye because I am in Portland, OR too! I'm running the Helvetia Half Marathon in June. I am a new runner, and fairly new to raw food (on and off for about a year). I'm currently on my 25th day of my 100 day challenge. I just started running again last week, and I'm only running about 3 or 4 miles each session (3x week) but I will gradually be working my way up over the next couple months. Running is a challenge for me, and I never thought that I'd ever be able to run a marathon, or even half marathon. I guess that's one reason why I want to do it. If the half marathon goes well, I'd like to try the Portland marathon in October. It looks like you may have a lot of running experience with a name like solo runner! Is that true?

Hi Stephanie,

Nice to meet you. Congratulations on your 25th day and getting out there and running. I love to hear from new runners. I have been running for years and still love it as if it was my first run. I will also be running the Helvetia half. I ran Portland last year and will be running a friend in after mile 21. I am running Newport in May and doing my first Triathlon sprint this summer. I really would like to encourage you to join Portalndfit, they are a great group that will help you train and complete your first marathon. ( www. portlandfit.com ) I also would like to invite you to join http://www.meetup.com/rawpdx/ another great group that is a wealth of support and knowledge. Not to mention a great group of raw people. Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions or just to say hello.... Best to you and hope to meet you soon.
