Here is a great bonus to go along with the weight loss. My blood pressure is now down to 115/75 with no meds after being 140/100 for years with meds. I also was able to get off my GERD medicine with no heartburn at all. Go RAWFU!

I have to recommend RawDog Rory's brownie recipe for your sweet tooth cravings, well actually for anytime. I've thrown them in the blender to give a little chocolate kick to the smoothie I was making.

Still down 12 pounds since changing my diet. Down 70lbs. from my max. I cannot wait to drop more and look forward to being supportive to others in this group. Be well!

So it's totally been ages since I've posted here and just thought I'd send out a little hello and express how awesome the new challenge is. :) Guess I wasn't completely expecting it to go on but it does make sense and I'm quite happy about it. Weight loss results here? Well, I've long since given up using a scale. Friggin' weird since I spent the majority-- well actually, scratch that, all of my teen years freaking about my weight, doing fad diets and weighing myself daily and moping about it for the next 24 hours... So I consider this a vast improvement. Anyway, not doing anything fancy with raw food, no new equipment to speak of or anything... and I'm totally good with it. I gained a bit (I can feel it when I do) since the stress of school's piled up extensively, year end and all that. But I'm gettin' back in the groove, and avoiding all vending machines like the reincarnated Bubonic Plague they are. Srsly, it's bad when it takes like 2 hours to grocery shop and you've no time to even straighten your hair, never mind grocery shop; thus, the next stop is, vending machine in the apartment lobby. *sighs sadly* Almost done tho and I got lotsa food now (went grocery shopping today! oh the horror!). Persimmons people! I found persimmons!!! *does happy dance*

I consider this challenge my prep for really digging in.....I could not sustain my early momentum with no local organic veggies and a bitter, icy winter here in NWNJ. I'm okay with the raw baby steps I made in those 100 days. Living foods first has gotten deeper into my conscientious....I think it needed to start there. Now with the warm weather coming, I have more resources for organic food.
I went to Montclair NJ this weekend for my first ever raw food event. David Wolfe spoke to about 100 people. It was inspiring to hear his exuberant energy and helpful to be in a room with so many others exploring raw, live food!!

Peace
Kath

I am not going raw to lose weight, but I know that it will happen. I work out 3 days a week and I am going to be on whole living foods. What should I expect!
