I'm a newbie to Raw Fu and new to raw foods. I had my first raw food cooking class Sept. 4 and have been mostly raw since. So far I love everything I have tried! The best part of raw foods for me is eating as much fresh fruits as I like! Yum! Bananas and apples are my faves. I've also fell in love with raw hummus! Looking for other great recipes.

Hi! I'm a new member and would love to talk to people that are like me(raw) I think going raw was the best thing I ever did. I feel great and went from 173 lbs. to 109 lbs in 10 months. I have been doing this for a year now and actually have problems with maintaining my weight, I keep losing if I don't eat like a pig to keep my weight the same. I'm very active. Any tips? or recipes? I'd love to hear from you. My family thinks I'm nuts, but I refuse to eat processed food or food I don't make myself.

Kelsey, I'm doing a similar transition. I've been plateaued for the longest time and really needed to cut way back on the nuts. So for breakfast, lunch and snacks I eat only fruit and/or veggies. And for dinner I eat whatever gourmet raw my little heart desires. This is working really well and my plateau has given way, since Aug 1 I've lost 15 lbs more. Total almost 95 lbs gone. So I'm trying to keep that plan going for now.....

Hi everyone! I'm fairly new to the raw fu community. I have been doing a "raw until dinner" plan that has been working out pretty well for me so far. Started on September 1st so this is day 17 for me! Lately I eat mostly raw, but knowing I can have some of my favorite foods has helped the transition process--until I find even better raw versions, yeah? :] I would like to lose about twenty pounds, but I am pretty sure I want to banish the scale...hate that thing. Right now I fluctuate between 153-158 on most days. I haven't lost any weight yet but I can definitely tell a difference in my energy level, it has skyrocketed! Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

Apprenticing with a raw food chef sounds really awesome!! I'm sure you'll gain a wealth of knowledge that will be invaluable.

Reading all of your stories just convinces me that I am doing the right thing. I am taking a year off before going to graduate school to apprentice to a raw food chef -- I will work in exchange for learning how to feed myself. I am really lucky and if all comes together, I can reach my life goal of having a balanced weight and a good relationship with food.
