100 Day Raw Food Challenge

Hi, everyone!
Anyone else here with 100 lbs or more to lose? I know that anyone with any weight to lose can relate to many of the different things that go with being overweight, & weight loss...but those of us with LOTS to lose, the obese, morbidly obese, etc. have some additional issues going on.

I thought I'd see if anyone else would like to join me here with supporting each other on this particular aspect of our raw journey, with accountability, sharing our struggles & victories, as well as solutions to issues those with less weight to lose don't deal with...& whatever else we're led to share.

{Perhaps Bunny would even set up a specific group here for us...? Bunny...?}

Soooo...anyone interested?

(& please don't take offense at this cartoon! It just made me giggle!)

I had over 100 to lose but now I have 99lbs to go :)
That will but me at 150. I think at 5'5" and 39 years
old 150 should be great! So count me in too.
We can do this ladies!

Ni, everyone, & welcome to the newcomers, & no ,I haven't started up a group just for us yet, just had waaaaaaay too much on my plate lately...but I'm still here, pressing on....the scale's been moving a little, though certainly not as fast as I'd hoped it would, but of course, I haven't been 100% consistant & I know now from experience that's the only thing that REALLY gets the scale moving for me...

...so, a new season of Biggest Loser is beginning soon! Anyone else watch it?
Anyone want to join in on a challenge with me regarding it?

There have been times I've sat on the couch watching it, eating sad foods....then, I began to challenge myself to ONLY be eating raw while it's on, & to get up & MOVE for at least half the show!
& I found that it really helped me during the days before & after to stay focussed, knowing it would be on soon, or had just been on...
...& I made it my official weigh-in day, too, which also motivated me!

Anyone want to join me?

Any other ideas about ways we can add to the challenge?

We could have that be the day we do a weekly video on what we're doing/what we CAN do...
I may have my daughter shoot video of me on the treadmill after ten minutes, so that as the weeks go by, I can look back & see the changes & improvements...& do a weekly video updating on my weeks progress/challenges, etc., as well as my goals for the coming week...I need MORE ACCOUNTABILITY!

I do great until STRESSFUL CIRCUMSTANCES happen, & then, food is the last of my priorities, & once that changes, I don't move as much...though I do see I handle stress better than I used to, & still stay a much higher percent of raw than I used to...& keep moving more than I used to...

...so, progress is slow, but at least I don't feel like I'm goin' backwards anymore!!!

How're YOU doing this week???

Anastazia,
Would love to do something with you in conjuction with The Biggest Loser. I always watch it and am just amazed that they don't hardly ever touch on the food they eat, until half way through and then the trainers come in when they are having issues losing or are at a plateau and ask them well what are you eating? And then get into food a little bit but, come on shouldn't they be talking about it as much as kicking their butts in the gym?
I mean all the sponsors of the shows are quite a bunch of not so good for you foods, but these people are going to go out in the world after and need some serious food knowledge. I'd like to see them give that on the show for the other people out there that need it too.
Anyway I didn't mean to go off like that..............so yeah, let's do something together while they're getting their butts kicked. My Tony Little Gazelle thingy is getting used alttle every day, so I'll promise to get on it for half the show too.
I can't do a video but I could add stuff to my blog, and check in here.........also weigh in on that day too.
I just went to the drs. today and she wants to run the usual yearly tests and bloodwork, I think that's a good idea, I can use that to find out how all my levels are but the xrays she wants, I'm not too keen on, but my hips and lower back are in bad shape and keep waking me up all through the night.I know its all arthritis and raw and moving will help
So hopefully going more raw will straighten that business out.
Hopefully more will join in...............

Hi again...Ok, so who BEGAN AGAIN & got re-motivated with me on Tueday? I cried through half of the first BL episode, it was so moving & powerful! & so many of them saidf what I feel!
While we were taping it, I was doing my 1st Aquafit class with my sis, then I watched it when I got home...& that was my first day again in awhile at 100% raw....when the challenge began, I let go of 11 pounds, but went to only about half raw, & gained back 4.....now, on the morning of my 3rd day raw, I've shed 11 pounds in the last 2 days of raw, & so altogether since the challenge began (Aug 10th, right?) I'm down 17 or 18 pounds...so far!
Oops, gotta go, just got a call, & someone's coming over, wanted to reply to everyone, too! I will later! At least I got to share what I discovered when I weighed in today & finally sat down & looked up the total! I'm so excited & NOTHING is gonna slow me down this time, I'm back to doing what worked the first time I went raw & shed 45 lbs in 43 days!

Hellooo!

I'm in. I'm down 17 lbs since july, but still want to drop another oooh 100. A friend of mine and I decided last night to start on a mostly raw challenge to drop 30 lbs by Thanksgiving. But it will be nice to have a backup group...cuz I'm pretty sure she's going to flake on me!

Gotta go!

Thanks so much for these, Dayna, I really appreciate your sharing them...I couldn't do most of the video workouts YET, but did find one I can, if I pace myself, the Make yourself over 40 minutes workout! Just the title of the other one (team beach body) is a wee bit intimidating, but I'm off to check it out now, too!

I keep ending up taping it, & watching it the next day, or whenever I get time...been waaaaaaay too busy lately! But I do try to work out as much as I can while I watch it, except for the 2 hour episode from this last Tuesday, (which I've still only watched 3/4's of...
...so did you get back your lab work yet? It helped me to finally go get mine done, found out a bunch of things I'm working on now, nutritionally, like being low in iron, etc.
So what'd you do when it was on this week? I did some weights, some stretching, & a little floor work/leg exercises...wanted to get on the treadmill, but was toooooo tired....of course, that likely woulda helped me wake up & get more energy, but with my FM, sometimes that fine line I cross is too close to do too much, or I'm incapacitated for awhile...I could tell it was one of those days!
Anyways, I'm trying to move more every day, I see how hard they push themselves, & figure if I push myself even half that hard I'd be doin' great...

yes, I would like a "special" group - it's much different than someone needing to lose 20 # of something. I have a lot to lose.

I am eating healthier than I ever have in my 49 years of life.... I am so glad to have found this support structure, but I need motivation. I've had so many health issues and surgeries since March -- and am eating as much raw as I can. But for other newbies, is the switch to raw a little rough on the colon at first? I'm clean as a whistle inside I'm afraid to walk in the wind I might play a tune.

Any suggestions? I feel lighter in my body - which I love. I am at minimal eating vegetarian, trying to be Vegan most of the time and doing a % raw each day depending on how I am feeling. I don't have a lot of the tools yet, so I doing what I can. I've been reading Raw Eating for dummies. I am going to try a green smoothie tomorrow I think.

Any tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Can we get our own group Anastazia? Were you going to ask?

I'm so sorry, everyone, that I let the ball drop on this...I really wanted to get a group going for us...I will for the next challenge, k? I've just been way too busy lately, since moving to a new province, & babysitting for my sister's family...
...Just watched Shay both break the record on Biggest Loser for being the first woman to shed a hundred pounds in NINE weeks! (The old record was 105 lbs in 12 weeks!) & THEN she got voted off & went HOME! (Still at 276 lbs...) She's about to come on Leno with Daniel, who also went home tonight...so off to watch it, but just wanted to check in, see how you've all done this challenge, & let you know I'll be MUCH more focussed next time, I promise!!!
