I've been lurking around here for a while and so this is only my first post :)
Are greens the answer to raw weight loss? I love green smoothies (when I'm not being lazy and actually make them). Is this a good way to support weight loss on the raw food diet or should I be doing something different? :)
Green smoothies are a great way to help loose weight!! You can put so much in them too.. like Spirulina, Maca, hemp seeds.. etc etc.. I love smoothies. :) I read somewhere online of a man who lost most of his weight due to green smoothies.. over 100 pounds i think. :)
I have found that when I start every day with a green smoothie, I tend to "de-puff" and lose weight very quickly! I like to add about a tablespoon of bee pollen to my smoothie. Make sure that you absolutely love the green smoothies you make. I was adding way too much kale to my smoothies, making them less enjoyable and I subsequently fell off the "raw wagon". My favorite green smoothie consists of: Strawberries, a couple bananas, fresh orange juice, bee pollen and spinach. Spinach is mild tasting and makes a satisfying green smoothie. However, I have read that because of the Oxalic acid content, spinach should not be used every day. :( Here is a great video, check it out!
