Any good recipes or combinations you've come across? Also if there's anything you're struggling with or need encouragement/advise/listening ear for let me know, it's why I'm here :)

Hi new RawFu friend! Thanks for the blog comment and happy day 2 to you! Lemme tell ya, one of the most simple yet overly satisfying and indulgent-feeling meals is just a big ol' bowl of avocados. Seriously, sprinkle some salt on that and you're set...though adding nuts or fresh corn makes it way better. Anyways, cheers!!!

Challenge starts tomorrow! Are we ready?
Thanks for your last post too. Wow, we def. have alot in common. How did you get into working weith Sudanese refugees? It's actually a really, really funny coincidence. I work with an organization called NESEI that builds schools in Sudan, mostly geared towards educating youg girls and fiving them a chance at something better. According to the stats. most girls in Sudan have a higher chance getting married (normally at a young age and into a bad situation,) than they do of graduating highschool. HIGHSCHOOL!! I don't know about most people but by my vote that's horrible. To have a better chance of being a wife than a highschool grad. just because you're a girl? O.K., yes I do understand that that is their society andf way of life. I also understand that I come form a proveleged society that takes material comfort and education for granted but still, that's horrible. On top of it most of the country is illiterate and their president has an 8th grade education.
One of my professors is one of the people who works closely with NESEI and they started the organization for interactions with one of the Lost Boys of Sudan. Right now the first school is recenlty opened right on the Sudanese border (in case of needing to evacuate.) They're aiming to get at least 200 giorls in the school. It's a boarding school which protects them the chance of bneing pulled out and all supplies, meals, etc. are provided. Beofre the girls come in families are also interviewed and told that with an eduction their daughter has a better chance of being a valubale supporter for her family than if she were put into an arranged marriage or sold into prostitutrion, so the families do have a little bit of an incenetive. It's amazing though. The group just started tutoring last year while I was in Mexico so I can't wait to get back into it and work more closely with the refugees.
How did you get into tutoring refugees by the way? Why the interest in woman's rights? Any plans for stuff related to taht? Last question, out of curiosuity, what turned you on to the raw diet? Sorry for the high amount of questions, jsut curious.

Hey,
What part of Anthro. are you studying/ara are you lookinng to work in? I declared an ANthro. major last year but I'm having trouble narrowing down the field after that. I really want to soething with Women's rights and holistic medicine, or with immigrants and possibly sustainable development. How are things in Australia? How is it beig raw down there? I have two friends from Melbourne and from living with them for a couple months it seems like it's a challenge but that could be situational too.
