Chocolate-banana-maca-lucuma-brazilnut ice cream for breakfast: oh, the struggle & deprivation of healthy eating!

I made Ani Phyo's Raspberry Chocolate Ganache cake for my birthday cake this year. It looks small but my parents and I had a tiny slice and were too full for dinner! My mom said she felt like she w...

Please tell me there's a RAW EGGNOG recipe made without eggs & dairy...? (& other holiday treats!)

I made this one and it was really good! A bit too sweet for me, I think next time I'll do less agave. But it was definitely decadent and tasty. I liked that the ingredients were simple, too. :]

Hey Kelsey, well, at least you had a great time in Seattle! You're doing so great, don't sweat the Seattle trip. I bet 4 pounds of the 6 is just water weight from the binge. Drink drink drink, and it'll be off in no time.

Vacation/back to the start!

Went to Seattle for the weekend. We had a great time but it turned into a huge binge! :[ Oh man. We walked around the city a lot every day, but ate a lot more than I was used to as well. I felt sluggish, had acid reflux all day yesterday (noticing this a lot more when I eat cooked foods now), and gained 6 pounds. One weekend totally threw me off my minigoal weight, sigh.

I'm soooo ready to get back to eating mostly raw, it just sounds delicious and I know I'll feel so much better! Hopefully on… Continue

Off and on

I've been kind of off and eating more cooked foods lately...I'm pretty sure a lot of it is stress. I had a big conversation with my boyfriend about next year. I'll be moving somewhere for grad school and now he's not so sure he wants to move with me. We've been together for four years and he's known about this for almost a year without saying otherwise, so I assumed we'd be moving somewhere together. Sooo that's been kind of hard to think about, or more like I'm not thinking about it and eating… Continue

Skin tags/bumps/cysts disappearing?

This is kinda weird and gross, so if you get grossed out easily don't read! Even I'm weirded out by what my body is up to lately, haha.

So for years I've had a few bumps on my chest and two bigger ones in my armpit. They weren't painful and I couldn't pop them, so I've left them alone. I try to pop them every once in a awhile, but nothing ever happens, so I just figured they were there permanently, like a benign cyst or skin tag or something.

A few weeks ago, one of the bumps on my chest poppe… Continue

Ten Pounds//Bee Tattoo

Fiiiinnallly. I did it! I lost 10 pounds!

I've been trying to get down to 150 for months. Actively trying since June, with the Gemini workout challenge and then raw. I didn't see any results that stuck until changing my diet. I think exercise is still important, but not as important as what we eat. And now that I have more energy from what I eat, I'm actually motivated to work out. (weiiird)

Soooo I'm booking my tattoo session this week to get my bee behind my knee. I've been wanting it for a… Continue

I'm 5'5" and my end goal is 130. I'm far from that right now, and I've never been there before as an adult.

I have a tattoo that Hedwig has

I'm going to get one just like it (except that the face isn't broken in two) when I have the money. This pic isn't mine, mine is on the outside of my leg in about the same place, and my leg is much larger.

The 52 pound weight loss is from just after I gave birth to my son. During my pregnancy I ate ben & jerry's every day, and was slightly depressed so I didn't have much winky time. I have come such a long way from back then. I was very defeatist, and I've found that I can't just survive my life, I have to thrive in it! If I'm going to be pessimistic about things I'm just going through the movements instead of making my life how I want it to be.

I'm actually starting another master cleanse today. I want to do one a month until I'm down to my goal weight and have enough money to have monthly colon hydrotherapy (my mom swears by it and has also had major weight loss in the recent past). I digress! I want to encourage you to try the master cleanse (of course you must read the book or at least check out some forums). Its easier than I thought it would be. Once you cut yourself off from food all together its so much easier than being raw, at least that is how I felt. I'm doing the first day as I type this and all I have to do is tell myself that all that tasty food will be there for me on the other side.

Hi Kelsey, a former member of raw fu told me about it. She had back trouble and swore by it. It's all about reducing inflamation.

This is an excerpt from Natural News, it's an interview with David Wolfe it's about calcium but he talks about msm

David: Vitamin C is sweet but not sugary. So it makes your morning water easier to drink. So that's one thing, vitamin C. The next thing is, what I believe to be, the greatest discovery in the last... probably in the last hundred years in the field of nutrition other than vitamin C and enzymes and that is sulfur, MSM, Methyl sulfonyl methane. MSM is a biologically available form of sulfur that's naturally found in wild, untended food. We don't really have access to that hardly at all any more. I mean, almost all our food is grown on farms for us. It's not being watered naturally by the rain. I'm talking about the natural sulfur that's produced in the oceans that helps create clouds, then drops them on the land that we need nutritionally in order to produce flexible collagen. Now what in the world does that mean? It means that sulfur produces flexible skin and flexible muscle tissue. It stops, in essence, wrinkling and increases the juiciness of the collagen and the discs, the joints that basically separate our bones from each other. On top of all that, it increases the growth of our hair, our nails, so that we have thicker, richer growth of our hair and nails. This can all be easily experienced within two weeks of taking MSM.

I had a pinched nerve at this time last year and had a hard time moving it was awful. I needed to use the elevator to get to the third floor where I work. But I went to a chiropractor on a regular basis, drank lots of water with msm every morning and tried to do yoga and by June I was able to climb Pike's Peak!! Research msm and see what you think. Feel better!

Hey Kelsey! Thanks for popping in with your comments on my video. I really appreciate what everyone has to offer, whether they are new at this or they have been doing it forever.

I hear what you are saying about the cost...and I am just doing the best I can. It is difficult because I still have a family of 5 and now so many different things I have to get for different people. But like you said, hopefully after a couple of weeks the cost will level out by figuring out what we like and just getting the whole routine down. So it is great to meet you and I wish you well on your newly embraced raw journey. :)
