Lovely stuff, everyone!! :D As for me...I'm the lead singer of a craaaazy band called BOX FIVE, which combines Mozart-esque chord progressions and bratty brit-rock hooks into a musical succotash we like to call "Classipop". I have the weird music...

Hard to say what's making you feel yucky after the beans. Beans are hard to digest, having high amounts of starch and protein in the same food. That's why they are known for gas. But if you are combining them with anything other than veggies, that...

Goodness, maybe I should go for a week of all-the-way 80/10/10 after all! Just had a lunch of a spinach salad with sprouts, red pepper and blueberries, with about a cup of cooked soybeans (I've never been 100% and am only high raw, mainly because ...

Thanks all Lisa, Larry and Sarah! So good to know about peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc! I don't have the 80/10/10 book just yet so I assumed it was for sweet fruits only, so this is great to know that I can add them to my diet with no problems ...

and remember 10% means calories...not volume..so you can eat tons of vegies...like more then most people and still be fine.. the more the better

I'm am new to 811 and not an expert by any means, but according to what I have read and comments made by many on the 811 groups, you may have trouble getting enough calories and feeling satisfied if you are choosing mostly vegetables and not getti...

Hey all, hope you are well! So I was all gung-ho to try this fun and fancy 811 thing until I remembered...I signed up for a super exciting (and delicious!) farm share for the next 20 weeks, where I'll be getting ten pounds of organic produce deliv...

Hi Mary, There's nothing wrong with the way you're transitioning. In fact, many people would say your current diet is healthier than a raw diet full of nuts for every meal. No fruits are taboo. If a fruit is super-sweet and calorie-dense, you jus...

Hi there everyone! Just have a quick question for you regarding the 80/10/10 diet, hope you don't mind! :) Earlier this year I tried my luck with the "traditional" raw food diet, but wasn't doing to well with staying 100% raw due to the fact that...

Hi Mary, I just saw that you are living in Boston. If you're in the Back Bay, you should definitely check out the conference I'm planning on "the Future of Food." It takes place on May 8-9 and most of it's free. You'll never eat processed or packaged again! Not implying that you do - we're all in different places on the raw journey though. The website is here: http://www.bu.edu/euforyou/EU/future-of-food.html.
