I have recently completed the Master Cleanse, and the cleanse recommends a raw diet before easing back into the world of cooked and processed foods. This was my first glimpse into the world of raw eating, and I'm intrigued! As a new vegan, whole, raw foods make sense as a part of a lifestyle that encourages compassion and sustainability. In the fall I'll be a new freshman at college and hope to learn from the community here ways to incorporate more raw foods and meals into my lifestyle while facing a lack of a kitchen environment and extremely limited funds.

I usually keep apples, LOADS of bananas, nectarines, and tomatoes on hand in my little fruit basket. For the fridge, I keep some grapes, some premade smoothies, cucumbers, carrots, a box of clementines, and whatever leftovers I might have. As you can see, it's all easy munchies. I have some more appliances now to take with me [juicer, dehydrator, etc], so I might have more on hand this year. But generally, I keep stuff that's easy to grab and go. Oh, also, nuts are great for on the run.
I am working on majoring in Journalism and Middle Eastern Studies, with a minor in Communications. How are your classes at the Muslim Center [I think thats where you said they were]? We have something like that where I live. I know they offer yoga classes, but I'm not sure what else.
That's what I really want to do...actually, I want to just shave my head so my hair can start out healthy, but my husband doesn't care for the idea. AT ALL! :)
Awesome on the Russian! I really wanted to, but I alerady have 2 semesters down in Arabic [going on my third], and I am also starting Persian this semester.. I figure I can pick it up myself on the side. But I hear it might be hard - they said the same about Arabic, but I lovelovelove it. Good luck!
And no worries about washing stuff, etc. I do it too - pretty much everyone will, since there is no other place. I'm bringing my dehydrator, along with enough equipment to furnish a small kitchen [LoL]. I would much rather get looks and eat raw food than just give in and feel like crap, you know?
College shouldn't be a problem for you [I just read your little profile dealy]. I am in college as well, and quite honestly, there are more options than you would think :] Yea, the budget sucks, but you find ways to make it work.
