Speaking of names...we have a friend whose real name is Misty Morning...hippie parents. If she had been a boy her parents were going to name her Dewey...lmao!

When my step mom was pregnant with the last child (I'm the oldest of eight) my dad was convinced it was going to be a boy (bought all blue stuff) and was going to name him hunter moon (since moon is my family last name) and I told him " dad, I absolutely will not stand for it" because growing up with the problems I had with a funny name was hard! I didn't want another kid having to go through the same thing. But fortunately, it was a girl and they named her Emily and she's 7 now. Still to this day though I get the whole " What's your REAL name" which always makes me crack a smile and a little sad (because both of my biological parents are passed now from cancer at young ages) but some people around my parents age (mid 50's) get it and smile at me. I used to HATE my name when I was younger because of all the attention, but now that I'm older It's grown on me and I into it (if that makes sense) More earth friendly (I've never had a drivers licence, I recycle, and I'm a genius when it comes to creating something out of discarded things) Oh geez! I talk way too much sorry! Have a nice day!

Misty, I once babysat for a "Lake Mississippi". . . yes, another hippy child! :-P Her mom's name was Summer, and her other mom's name was Autumn. I forget her dad's name. He was a chimney sweep, and looked like the dude from Fleetwood Mac.

Probably needless to say at this point, their child's name was the least odd thing about that very unconventional household. My mom was the only one in the entire area who would her child sit for them! And I enjoyed it, too. Very cool family. Odd, but cool.

I didn't have the heart, however, to tell the parents that the Mississippi is a river, not a lake . . . .

Not that any of that is here or there. Just a triggered memory!

Why Do You Want to Join Raw Fu?
I've been raw now since earth day 2008 and it's impotant to me to stay as raw as possible. I would love the support and information that may come out of this as well as staying healthy and maybe even shed some unwanted pounds(already lost 40 want to lose another 60).

Day 2 on juice feast

Today was pretty good I had 3 grapefruit, 3 cloves of garlic, 6 tomatoes, 6 cucumbers, 1 beet, 2 bunches of spinach, 10 carrots, 1 head of romaine, half an onion, 1/2 an bell pepper, 2 handfuls of cilantro. So mostly vegetables today, tomorrow may be mostly fruit....who knows? Day 1 on juice feast

Going good so far not as hungry as I thought I would be. I have to pee a lot (like you needed to know that). Anyhow still loosing weight. From when I started (in April) til now have lost 55 pounds so doing great! I hope to be down to my desired weight (135) by summer next year which would be about 11 pounds a month loss (which I think is reasonable). I'll keep everyone updated as it goes along. YAY!!!

Do you wanna know what I'm wearing RIGHT NOW? A pair of size 22 jeans that didn't fit me in July (I was wearing size 26) and they're loose fitting (not baggy yet) WOOHOO!! I'm shocked because July wasn't that long ago and it just seems crazy because the last time I tried them on they wouldn't even go over my hips! I'm down 45 pounds since April (when I started) and I'm going on walks now to lose more.
