I really look forward to watching the next videos with Rory and his mom! Congratulations on the successful move and Go GO GO!:-)

I don't really menu plan; I just see what's ripe on my fruit shelves and what veggies are in the crisper, and make up a smoothie, salad, bowl-o-fruit, or juice. I tried a cashew salad dressing a couple days ago and DIDN'T bother soaking the nuts.....

Well said, Kirsten. I find those "demons" are often just my own reflection, trying to get a point across but I keep projecting the message onto others, or believing I'm being attacked instead of advised. I need to have more "teatime" with myself ;-)

Ooh binge hangovers...yikes. I don't have "allergic" reactions like some people do, but certain foods definitely call to me chemically. I've never heard of the workbook you mentioned. Is it about eating or more hollistic? I'll have to check Amazo...

I feel bad that watermelon doesn't agree with you; it's such a yummy fruit! One question: have you been eating it combined with other food/fruits? I know you mentioned cukes, so have you tried eating it alone on an empty stomach? I've read that me...

I was always thin growing up. I gained weight in university, I guess from stress and hormones and just eating different foods at different times. The weird thing is, I didn't really notice. The picture of myself in my head stayed the same even tho...

This wasn't too long, Jenni. It's exactly what you needed to get out here for us to understand you. You sound like you have reasonable goals in mind, too.

Good Question: Why am I so content with loves that turn me yellow?

Be with those who help your being
by Rumi

Be with those who help your being.
Don't sit with indifferent people, whose breath
comes cold out of their mouths.
Not these visible forms, your work is deeper.

A chunk of dirt thrown in the air breaks to pieces.
If you don't try to fly,
and so break yourself apart,
you will be broken open by death,
when it's too late for all you could become.

Leaves get yellow. The tree puts out fresh roots
and makes them green.
Why are you so content with a love that turns you yellow?

Judgeing Others

I feel ashamed to admit this but I ask for help honestly and respectfully. I have a problem with judgeing people based on their size. I know some people will say, "Duh, everyone does that!" and others will think that's harsh of me, as we are taught not to do that.

I see a chubby friend who is vivacious and pretty and eating whatever she wants, and I feel envious of her confidence and freedom. Then, I try to make myself feel better by telling myself that *I* don't eat that much junk anymore; and… Continue

First Fasting Day Successful

One of my goals for WholeFu was to try fasting for a day. I've "not eaten" in the past out of guilt, or illness, but I don't think I've ever fasted with the intention of giving my body and digestive system a break.

I only drank fresh coconut juice and lightly brewed oolong tea (a few small cups provided for me while I got a Chinese foot massage---a weekend treat!)

I don't know if it's truly fasting if you consume anything, even water, but I wanted to ease into the idea. It wasn't hard as I'd e… Continue

One Day Down

I haven't been doing well this challenge: bingeing, eating unhealthy snacks, overeating dried fruit, and basically feeling like, "if I mess up by eating this popcorn/chocolate/pastry then I might as well go all out and eat to an excess". Not good.

Today I marked on my calendar that I was restarting the challenge with definite goals and outlines in mind, and I did well, yay! I didn't eat the cooked food provided for us at school; and I had plenty of smoothie and coconut water as an after work tr… Continue

Self-Sabotage and A New Start

I think I need to restart this challenge. I thought I could handle having some cooked food here and there and still feel good and be balanced in my eating, but it's not turning out that way. I find if I leave the door to cook-food-is-okay open, I barge right in and overdo it.

I eat some steamed broccoli, which is fine...but then later I have some rice and stir-fried veggies at work because I have a big block of classes and didn't bring anything raw to eat, and then I come home hungry and eat a… Continue

Come to me, Blendtec...

I was listening to the Beach Boys, and thinking of how I'd love to win one of the Blendtec blenders from the magazine subscription give-away. Well, this is my own rendition of "Wouldn't It Be Nice" ode to the blender. Maybe my silly, creative attempt at wooing the blender will earn me good luck!

Wouldn't it be nice to win you, Blendtec
Then I wouldn't have to wait so long
And wouldn't it be nice to live here with me
In my little kitchen where you belong

I know you're gonna make it that much b… Continue

Hey Nicole! Sorry for the late reply, I forget to check my page for comments!

Im excited that you are getting into climbing!!! I do not know of many good climbing sites with videos, BUT, one site that has helped me throughout my climbing career is www.indoorclimbing.com - they have areas about training and technique and stuff and its pretty helpful.

Have you tried looking on youtube?

Dump that lady speed stick...my hubby and others who have tried this says it works. You could use essential oils like lavender or orange...or whatever floats your boat! My mother in law likes coconut oil smell...My husband wants it made with essential oils next time. Try it! : )
