No, we don’t really celebrate it here, we talked about it and in the past we have hosted BBQ’s with flag napkins and lots of red, white and blue but this year we were busy getting the kids off to camp and painting so we didn’t even take out the flag placemats that my aunt made for us when we moved here. We’ll have to make up for it with an American style party later this summer.
We have been busy for months; we started a huge purge project of the house in May and painted the entire inside, I can’t believe how much we got rid of, tunk loads! It feels so good and freeing. We took a break the beginning of June to go to a Villa on the island of Evia. It was a super time, pure relaxation sitting by pool, taking long beach walks and reading. We came home rushed to do laundry and sent our youngest off to camp and our oldest off on a mission trip. Sophie and I spent the next week going to beach and having long talks letting everything else go. Luke and Georgie came home and I turned around doing laundry again to get him ready to go and work at camp, Tony took him and Sophie up late yesterday afternoon as the paint was drying on the bottom floor. The only room left to paint in the house is Georgie’s and it will be a messy job taking down wallpaper!
We met a new family at church yesterday that just moved here. My prayers have been answered, they have a daughter Georgie’s age and the two hit it off right away. She is also homeschooling. Today Georgie is at there hotel playing in the pool and tonight she will stay overnight here with us and then we will go to the beach tomorrow. This is the first day I have had kid free in so long. I have a list of things I want to get done, tie up so many loose ends and make up for neglecting my house work the last couple of weeks.
The raw journey is not going as smooth as I would like and my dream of having a bikini body have faded some but today is yet another new day, another new start and we’ll see where it takes me! Things are good on this side of the ocean.

- I felt the hug all the way over here and I needed it this morning. Thank you bunches. I'm busy with my spring cleaning and taking apart the house moving things and really purging out things. Tony took the curtains down for me last night they are at the cleaners and hopefully we will start painting in a the next few days! Off to sort out books and finish up the bottom floor, we are changing it from a homeschool room to more of a living space, we do school all over the house so it really is not needed anymore. I'm neck deep in more than a mess than I started with but it is sure going to feel good when it is all done!

Thank you for the compliment. Things are going great here! I did a great juice feast for a month and have tired quiet a few new raw recipes lately, when I am on solids I still find that I eat too many nuts and I feel that keeps me from achieving my weight goals. The exercise is still lacking but with the warmer weather I at least keep myself moving more without any effort. Spring has come to Greece but is still pretty cold, the sun and birds and wildflowers give me a taste of what is to come. I really like the warmer weather. We are on the home stretch with school now, some classes are finished already. The end of the month Luke and Sophie will finish up with their exams giving way to the freedom of summer. I don’t know who is more excited this year the kids or me!
Tony is in Brussels now, we expect him home on Thursday. Friday, May 1st is a holiday here and also Georgie’s birthday, she thinks it is neat that he always takes her birthday off!
I am really feeling like I want to purge and get rid of some of the stuff around here. It is starting to feel sinful to hold on to all the clothes in my closet. I have so many sizes to deal with but the bottom line is there is just too much stuff around here. Even yesterday when I was in the kitchen I was feeling crowded by the amount of kitchen gadgets I have. It is not that I am sinking in clutter but I just feel like I have far too much stuff, drawers are full and books are getting dusty. With each passing year we accumulate more and more things. When we moved to Greece we came with only what we could carry and look at us now, our house is full.
Dory in her wisdom thinks it has to do with raw, maybe she is right. I just know the desire to simplify and shed is overwhelming to me right now!

I am just so ready to have her here and in my arms. I'm starting to exercise again 20 minutes a day on the elliptical glider. I'd like to have her before April is out.

- I have tried so many times to go 100 percent raw on my own but really need to be accountable. I have been about 90 percent raw since January. It is just so easy to make excuses when I don't have anyone "keeping an eye on me". So it will be so great to have a community support me, and for me to be able to offer support to someone else, after all "no man is an island" or in my case.....no woman :o)

I am back from South Africa
Hello everyone, it feels like forever since I was on this site. We went to South Africa for three weeks and it was fantastic, great summer weather and of course our family. Anyway while we were there we had very little opportunity to go on line and most of the time it was dial up. So I missed everyone on this site. Woke up to a flooded basement.
Yup, not fun. Woke up to this really strange sound. I attributed it to the television in my son's den downstairs but couldn't find the source. Of course the next level is the basement and so I knew something was up. I opened the basement door......and well, there was water everywhere. And water was spraying from the water heater expansion tank with such force it was hitting the dry wall. Almost wore a hole right through the wall.
