I had to try durian because I heard so many people talking about durian.I get my young coconuts at an asian market and they had durian frozen in a bin .I wanted to try it so we did .I was not impressed the more I ate it ,but most went in the trash I must admit.
I would however try Durian again with a group in order to have it not go to waste. It may taste different too.Cause bananas for instance taste different if overripe, maybe a different Duian is different too.Talk to you again.I have been here since October on Raw Fu.I am out and about on my weekends though.Have a Great Day
I'm glad you were able to salvage a yummy drink. The very first time I ordered MSM I ordered the powder and the mistakenly mailed me the capsules. Then I decided the capsules were easier in case I didn't drink any meals in a day. I was/am tired this evening. I decided instead of a green smoothie to just have a spinach salad. I put in some grape tomatoes, cuccumber, and added a little bottled vinagrette. It was pretty good, but I was thinking I can't chew enough to get the smoothie consistency. There's always tomorrow:)
Hey Robin! Just saw your question about MSM on a discussion. I promise I am no expert. But MSM stands for MethylSulfonylMethane, got that from my bottle. Google it and get all the details. But I know it is good for joints, ligaments, nails, and hair. My story is...last May I started having pain in my right knee. Went to a doctor, he took an x-ray and then referred me to an orthopedic surgeon. Gave me a prescription for some arthritis medicine that "may cause heart damage." I decided not to fill the prescription, never could connect with the ortho. surgeon, and started MSM. A couple of months later NO KNEE PAIN. Like I said I'm no expert, I just no what happened to me. You'll love your journey about learning all kinds of new stuff:) Oh...I take 4 750 mg tablets a day. Two in the morning and two at night. The brand I use is Sun Star Organics.

Hi Robin, It's nice to meet you!
Yes, the latkes were amazing, I was actually so surprised how much they tasted like regular latkes. How great that your daughter is in Pittsburgh...maybe I'll get to meet her and you in person sometime!
Hi Robin. I saw you had a few questions in one of your posts so I thought I'd answer them here for you:
* popcorn...is cooked unfortunately (I know, it's super yummy!). I'm sure you could find a fun wanna-be popcorn recipe somewhere on the web though! If you like salty crunchy I'd recommend giving kale chips a try.
* I would recommend getting away from coffee...try weening yourself with teas and yerba mate (a Japanese tea that has a mild coffee taste). Coffee is pretty bad for you. Tea, especially herbal tea, is a much safer choice. But definitely go at your own pace!
* 80/10/10 is a specific raw diet in which people eat 80% carbohydrates, 10% proteins and 10% fats. According to Douglas Graham who developed the diet it is the optimal human diet. Most 80/10/10 (also referred to as 811rv) followers eat a lot of very sweet fruit which makes me a little wary. Certainly feel free to educate yourself on this and many other diets and choose what works best for you!
I met Bunny and some of the ladies from the site at the Dallas Raw Food Prep class. It was an awesome experience and I thought the web site would be fun. I also really need the support of other women like me who are meeting the challenge of eating a healthier diet.
