I have a hard time digesting grains if they've sprouted very long, but I have done okay with wheat & barley sprouted for 24 hours - so they have just a tiny tail.
I have made breadsticks with sprouted wheat & barley.
1 cup wheat berries (which is just a fancy name for plain ol' wheat)
1 cup hulled barley (has the hull removed but is not "pearl" barley)
Soak the grains 24 hours (rinse once halfway through)...

Hi, Wave. Congratulations! Do you mean you're still having lows in spite of not taking the Metformin? How high are your high sugars? The best way to deal with lows, in my opinion, is to eat 5-6 small meals per day, combining a healthy, raw carb and protein in every meal. I usually recommend that diabetics completely avoid fruit, but your body may be at a point that you are able to incorporate small amounts/servings of berries without having high sugars. This would not be advised if your sugars are still running high. Raw food can and will reverse both high and low sugars, so you're on the right track! Prickly Pear (Nopal) or Bitter Melon extract (in liquid or capsules) works much better at lowering sugars than juicing a bitter melon (and tastes better! LOL), but the juice is also very effective. Good luck to you!
Thanks for the cheese help, I really think it might be an emotional/psychological/brain thing for me as most seed cheeses don't satisfy the craving. I like the bath and tea idea :)
Hi Susana! The Orange Dream recipe is under the picture just before the one where you made you comment (hmmm, that sounds confusing). Here's the link to it. If you do try it, you'll have to let me know how it comes out!
sorry its taken so long to reply, i've really been struggling with detox symptoms, got flu, and haven't had the energy to write. feel like i'm over the worst, i hope!
how are you doing?
at the moment, i'm not sure if raw food is helping me because of detox, i'm also struggling with preparation/remembering to soak nuts etc. how do you manage? i often don't have the energy to juice which i think may help....
i too do the mindfulness of breathing and metta bhavana, which really helps. and i've just started a restorative yoga course!!
