I agree with Jane. I used aluminum foil and parchment paper in my Ronco dehydrator. Don't invest in it. Save the money in a piggy bank, and buy a dehydrator with a fan! :) Although, I have to say, my Ronco served me well. Jane is the reason I hav...

Tanya - if at all possible replace your Ronco with an Excalibur dehydrator (with a timer, if possible). Look on craigslist or ebay; somebody out there will be selling one for a decent price. I used a Ronco at the beginning of my raw food transitio...

I recently purchased an old style Ronco dehydrator and was wondering if anybody knows where the heck I purchase the sheets that go on the trays!!!!

Thank you for posting each day what you are eating. I look forward to reading this. It gives me ideas BUT most important it reminds me to just keep in simple. Do you usually not eat an afternoon meal? I would be starving. Keep posting!

That was adorable. Wyatt is so cute. I am going to make myself some juice.

Don't ever be embarrased your back now and I can totally relate to what you are going through. I fell off the wagon and I fell hard. I am just now getting myself turned around. It's not easy and it sure does take a lot of work but we can do it!!!

My favorite is diced apple, blueberries with cinnamon, agave and crushed walnuts. I always eat this when I can't think of anything else.

Hmmm...I would make a list of the different food that you like to eat that are raw....and have 2 or 3 combinations of foods that you change weekly. The majority of the meal can be a salad....look up raw dressing recipes online that mimic your kid...

I agree that the cold weather makes me want more cooked food. I want something heavy and warm to make me feel cozy and lethargic on the couch. Usually this just results in a stomach ache and dehydration...but I still want it anyway. I believe this...

Wendy That is so funny!!!

It's more of a challenge for me at dinner time, especially when the weather starts getting cold. I'm fine in the summer with eating a giant bowl of fruit but once fall hits I suddenly feel like I should have a "traditional" meal. I think Wendy has...

You know what's funny, is that my son is in Gr. 2 and they sent home a Daily Planner for the year that we have to interact with. On the first couple pages, there is an "oath" to sign, about eating healthy, and they wanted us to list 3 things we wo...

That is a great idea about adding one cooked item. I feel like I have to break my kids from this way of thinking. Outside fast food restaurants and their friends do not help. My son has actually had other kids tell him they won't spend the night a...

Hey Tanya ~~~ I can relate to this one. I myself have always been able to eat just a cantaloupe or two for a meal, or some one item, and have eaten like this for years. And I hear ya ~~~ friends & family tend look at me with S.A.D. eyes and wond...

Diet Coke

My family and I recently stopped drinking diet coke. I am ashamed to say that not only did I drink but so did my two kids and they have been for sometime now. The first few days were hard but it has been over two months now and were are going strong. I am proud of the kids. I am hoping I did not do too much damage!!! My daughter is doing the 100 day challenge with me.

Thank you Bunny you are an inspiration.

lol, you ate a hot dog, it's never too late to start over! Recover and move on, that's what I do. I crave natural peanut butter ( no salt, oils or sugar added, just grounded peanuts) almost every day. It's so fattening and some days I eat it til I'm half sick, I gain weight for the next 2 days from it. But then I tell myself that I will look the way I used to at 173lbs.if I don't stop. And I stay away from it for a while. At least until I lose the weight again! lol Good to hear from you

Hi Tanya, yes, i do count calories. I always did. That's how I maintain my weight now. I am very active so if I don't keep track, I'll end up looking like a toothpick. lol I eat a very big breakfast, about 450 cal. Lots of fiber and protein. Fruit galore! More fruit for lunch w/ a fat free yogurt. A salad for dinner, again w/ some kind of protein. If I get hungary later I snack on fruit. I love fruit so it's no problem for me. I'm about 85 to 90% raw. It's working for me and I have never felt better. Give it a try, let me know what you think

Hi Tanya,
I wish I could get my hands on those bars here in Greece, sadly I can't! I have had a few sent to me in care packages from the States. They have all been yummy! My favorite bar to date is the Perfect Food Red Raspberry bar, I got a couple in the mail and love them!
Congrats on giving up the diet coke! That was a hard one for me to give up too.
