I'm thankful for my beautiful friends - from Raw Fu, from my past and present, from Facebook. So many inspiring, entertaining and enlightened individuals.
Here's another quick treat if you do raw honey - chop up about three dried figs. In a small bowl combine a spoonful of raw honey, a spoonful of raw tahini and a pinch of sea salt. Stir in the figs.
Dates stuffed in celery are great too.

My favorite thing lately is to open up medjool dates and put a pecan on each half. You can sprinkle the dates with cinnamon and salt first like a mini cinnamon roll. Couldn't be quicker and they're filling. All my friends love them too when I carr...
Hang in there Bunny. I was a sugar addict and dates are still my transition. Dates blended with any kind of berry make a yummy pudding, or dates with raw pecans. I know they're sugary but so much better for you than white sugar.
Wendy - bananas make any greens taste good - spinach, romaine, swiss chard, kale. Pears are really good too and blend really smooth. A date or two can also help even a veggie smoothie.
This is so fantastic, I'm so thrilled and excited for all of you. Your family is so lovely and inspiring, I hope Mamadawg knows she is going to change the lives of others by taking on this challenge. Love to you all!
Welcome home Bunny!!
During this challenge I gained JOY. I've been raw almost 2 1/2 years and I realize I'm at a point where I walk around and see beauty in EVERYTHING and find joy in EVERYTHING. Life is now in technicolor. I've also noticed duri...
Hey Basil, welcome home! Thank you for supporting Bunny on her journey so she can support us and we can support our families...see how much influence you have??!
I'm deep cleansing the drama. Trying to live with less of it. It's really not necess...
Hey Amysue! Great to have you as a friend! Love reading your comments on my vidz! The ranch dressing video is loaded and ready to go when Bunny is all set to put it up, but heres the written recipe for the ranch dressing~
1c soaked sunflower seeds
1/2c of water
juice of 1 lemon
1+1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 clove garlic
1tsp onion granules or powder (I love the granules!)
1/8th tsp black pepper
1+1/2 tbsp dried dill weed
Blend everything except the dill and the black pepper in your blender until creamy then toss in your black pepper and dill and do a quick blend just to mix 'em in. Enjoy! (ps if you wanna use it as dip just add 1/2 the amount of water!)
If you have a good gluten-free bread recipe, I'd love to have it! My hubby likes to make bread and I think the one gf recipe he tried wasn't that good. Take care.
Oh, thank you for asking! The food part is great this year! Last semester I purposely took all my classes on Tuesdays & Thursdays so I would have time for food prep. on the days in between. I still got to where I was having a hard time because I was not taking enough food with me for a long day at school, so I started eating more desserts & dehydrated foods that I could take with me to school, and I would make a salad dressing & then go to the salad bar in the school cafeteria. This semester I am not in school, so I'm really enjoying being able to drink green juices & fancy veggie meals that I didn't do while in school because of the time versus calorie trade-off. :)
Thank you so much for your "No Overt Fats," advice! I appreciate you taking time out for the suggestions. I am going to see how long I can go without overt fats. Either I will cave into craving for them or experience the detox symptoms you did. I really never give it enough time. But, the fructose and fats don't mix with me for whatever reason. It wasn't always like this, but I guess time and toxicity caught up with me. Who knows?
How long did you go before the detox symptoms set in? I will let you know how I do. I am on day three. Wish me luck! Thanks again and have a beautiful day. Love the pics. You have a beautiful family. ;-)
oh my goodness, thanks for the tip on the hummus! I had absolutely no faith but I happened to be at Whole Foods last night so I copied the recipe from the his book (don't tell!) and picked up the ingredients zuchinnis (I had everything else!). It tastes just like hummus! I mean I know that it is hummus but zuchinnis? I will cut down on the salt next time but other than that it is fantastic. Thanks!
No. :( My dad has since returned to the land of fried chicken & energy drinks. :P Thanks for your interest! My mom has been slowly adding more healthy foods to her diet, though, several of them raw - she even requests encores of some of the stuff I give her. :)
