Late Night Eating

I am noTORious for late night eating. I usually get off work late so I finish dinner around 11 pm and then try to stay up till 1 so I have enough digestion time. I ALWAYS feel icky and gassy in the morning. (Always, as in, since I've been in raw foods.) Yesterday I watched every single Paul Nison video I could find and was very motivated to stop what I was doing. He advocates just a couple of meals a day (giving the old digestion more rest, of course) and to stop eating when the sun goes down. S… Continue

Definately will blog the vacay! I think it will help me along too. Good job with the workouts, here is a site I love for exercise videos, that you can watch samples of. You might just get some ideas and also may want one for yourself they are great for when you don't wanna leave the house. ;0)

Wow, it's funny when you say pick off the cheese and eat the crust of the pizza only. This is totally something I could see myself doing if I let myself start eating all the cooked stuff. I used to waste a lot of food by picking at it and throwing out the rest, my brother would get so mad at me. I realize now that it was a way for me to feel satisfied and feel like I could eat 'the bad stuff'. But the funny thing was that I was never satisfied. Eating raw I eat it all and I am still losing some weight, I don't have to worry on raw.

Thanks for the advice. I hope to be posting throughout my trip at home so that I can be accountable and also cause I think it will be interesting. How are the workouts going? Sweating a lot lately? ;-)

Hey MB,
Just wanted to reach out to ask for advice. I am going home in July for two weeks and I am really excited. I am sorta intimidated about continuing raw there though. I talked to one of my sisters tonight and she asked me, "So are you going to eat RAW the whole time you are at home??" And I told her I was gonna try and then she said, "There's gonna be a lot of YUMMY food at mom's!!" Sorta tempting me, and I realized, damn, not only am I going to have to try to make my own menu, but I am going to have to deal with my sister(s) who will prolly patronize me. They are great sisters and my family is loving but I know I will get a lot of critiques. Either way I am planning on doing my best... but still worried about the fam's reaction. Any advice from your end?

Yes I do know what you mean. You should try doing some plyometric exercise and intervals. Basically shorts bursts of energy, like squat jumps, then, jump rope, then jumping jacks, then knee raises... it really gets you going and sweaty!

well you look great!
eating is the best and I love thinking about it especially when it's raw and going to feed and nourish my body. If you make exercise part of your routine, you lose that sense of feeling bad and never have to worry again. Exercise is my religion.

Well, I was running but I think I am going to stop for a bit, my knees have been bothersome and I think it's the running. I teach Kickboxing twice a week, I lift weights a couple times a week, and I like to do yoga. I also hike outside when the weather is nice. But honestly I eat so much.. so I have to stay active... exercise came first then the eating habits changing came next.

Ya know, it really doesn't matter how raw you are. All that is important is what works for you. I eat mostly raw but sometimes I decide to cook some buckwheat or have some canned veggies or a slice of wheat bread. That is interesting that you had a nut/date addiction, I sort of go in and out of this phase, but it doesn't affect me cause I am so active. I do have to watch my dried papaya addiction though!! lol!
