i think its because its the first meal of the day that i am so sensitive and reactive to. its not like i couldn't make a fruit tart with coconut/pecan/walnut/agave base as a dessert. its that morning thing!
i am not putting judgements on my food. it elevates it too a very stressful place for me. i usually eat whole, organic food. i am not vegan. that said, i do want my diet to be a higher percentage of raw. i want to include more raw choices. i don't...
hey lisa! part of my discovery was that nut butter in my mainly fruit based smoothies played havoc with my blood sugar. i still wanted the protein, but not the fat. there have been several threads here that indicated that the fat keeps the sugar i...
the first time around, i planned and made lots of "gourmet" type recipes. i found, though, that i was adding extra pressure on the situation by constantly obsessing over food. food was always on my mind, and i needed to step back and simplify.

Thanks for commenting Esther. I feel so out in left field sometimes - it's very reassuring to know my words resonate with someone.
I know Summit NJ very well. I grew up in Mendham and for several summers commuted from Morristown into New York City to work in my dad's office on Wall Street Plaza. I especially remember the Summit stop on the train!
yeahh, i've been talking to her on the giveittomeraw website. and that is true! we should start our own meet up group, as i'm sure there are other raw foodies out in our area as well.
hey there! thats awesome! Yeahh, its so rare to find fellow raw foodies close by, a lot in nyc though, i might go to a raw food potluck one of these days...
but, hey! spring is coming, and thats means lots of yummy fruits and veg! :-)
Got an email back from Whole Foods. The lady said she is going to try to get more raw foods in, she asked if I had any suggestions so I told her Awesome Foods, Gopals, and Livin Spoonful. That was all I could think of at the time. I am mad I forgot to mention Gnosis Chocolate! Oh well, when she writes back again I will. She also said they will still be carrying Thai coconuts. Yay! :)
Hello Friend! Are you ready for this snow!! Grrrrr!!!
I wanted to drop you a note and let you know that if you go to the Whole Foods website and find our store you can fill out a form and let them know you want more raw food. I did it, and I am telling another raw foodie from Cranford to do it as well. The more the better!! Maybe they will listen!!
Hey! It was pretty good, thanks for asking! We went to Pure Food and Wine, I did have a little problem though, the food was really rich. Too rich for me! I could barely finish my entree.. but I cleaned my plate at dessert! :)
Thanks! yea, not a football fan!! Haha! You've got to check out that new Whole Foods in Union, they have thai coconuts and they even make fresh juice! It's huge and gorgeous!
Montclair? Really, my sis goes to Montclair State U.. I will have to ask her! Westfield stinks! There's a health food store in Cranford that has a few things, but we usually go to the new big Whole Foods in Millburn/Union. I grew up in Oceanport, down the shore, Long Branch area, we visit my parents and in laws down there every weekend. Lots of really good health food stores and a few vegan (not raw though) eateries. I get a lot from there. We do have Trader Joes in Westfield, which is great for nuts, vegan stuff, and frozen fruit, but the produce is horrible. Sunday is my birthday we are going to Candle 79 since they offer raw food.. I guess for the good stuff you gotta trek into NYC!
