About the Green Bean Casserole (and all of my food)... I don't cook from recipes.. I just throw things together and never measure unless I'm trying to develop a recipe. I work as a vegan chef and most of the raw foods here, I actually un-cook for work...

Here's a rundown of what I did.. prepped green beans and froze them (when they thaw, they have a cooked feel)
Made a base of mushrooms, sunflower seeds, cashew cream, spices for the "soup" and mixed it all together. I am very lucky that I work in a restaurant that is in a health food store and we carry Raw Dehydrated Onion Crisps which I sprinkled inside the casserole and on top. You could make your own in a dehydrator.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.. you have a beautiful family.

Thanks for accepting my friend request! I've only started experimenting with going raw this year, sometime in the spring. I'm hooked and know this will be less of a 100 day challenge and more of a life-long journey!

Gosh you have a beautiful family!! Wow! I am so happy to connect with you and follow your story. To this date I have lost somewhere between 35 and 40 pounds and I have been raw for 10 months. I really just let my body do what it needed to do to heal itself while practicing Yoga. I just wanted to be kind to my body. When I made that decision the weight just sort of came off. It has been sort of a spiritual transformation as well. Check out my site at www.mytiepants.com and click on "Our Blog". I write about my story and progress up to this point. I am really a strong advocate for green smoothies! It really does wonders for my system. Much love to you!!

New Orleans representin! :)

You have five children and they're all raw!! That's so inspiring! Did you raise them that way from birth? IF not, how did you transition from cooked to raw? Did they resist? I'm getting a lot of resistance from my daughter (yes, that's my little one in the photo), who I believe is addicted to breads and crackers. she does eat salad and she's slowly accepting more raw food - she ate fresh parsley yesterday (at first, she said she didn't like it but then she stuffed it into an olive and loved it!! So I'm working with her to be creative about HOW she likes food, rather than IF she likes it or not.) Anyway, how old are your children? :)

How we have learn to grow a marriage, and now growing in Raw

Hope sure, need hope yes, but I what would say is most needed is an undieng faith... . Hope allows you to gain momentum in the faith area. I am in a bi-cultural marriage, my husband is first generation Haitian-African-American, I am African American more generations than I know. I purpose the Mayflower as my longtime African-American route.
I have said this before I think, my normal and his normal took great battles in the beginning like two "Moose a fighten". He comes from a strong marriage bac… Continue

Today is my 16th year anniversary with my husband 10/31/92

IT feels good to wake up to children waiting and wanting just fruit for breakfast. My husband washing his locks with out complaint of where is the shampoo, can you do this, help me, and knowing we are in such a good space. I cooked two meals for those who choose to eat cooked food. IT was great that no one wanted much of it, we all preferred raw, so I took the cooked food to my grandmother and my father. Marriage has been great the best part is growing together and developing as supportive indiv… Continue

great run today.

I was giving myself gratitude boost while I ran. I wanted so bad to move to a foresty, not far from Mountains kind of town. I thought Maryland and Pa were so nice. I just visited there early in October. I live her in flat ole Chiago. I live fortunalely on the lake. It is beautiful. I can run there sun or snow. They shovel for us everday in the winter. Yeah the winters are long but, I can still take brisk walks. My husband is a extremely stable man, not much changed needed for him. Me, I think I… Continue
