Hey!
Thank you! The tattoo was worth the pain.
It`s nice to see other activists. Do you have any animal rights organizations that you support?
I`ve been raw since last february, but it hasn`t been an easy journey! i went raw only a few weeks after i went vegan and it was quite a shock for my body. it`s taken me the last year to become almost 100% raw, but i sometimes have a cooked sweet potato. I think it took me all that time to change my mindset just as much as my eating habits.
How long have you been raw?
It took 2 trials for me to go 100% raw. The first time i realized i wasnt eating enough calories AND i would have intense food cravings for vegan junk food (like cookies)
THe second go around i fought through the cravings... they only lasted for a few weeks before they completely vanished.
Once i went 100% raw, i never looked back. I began to not even see the processed or cooked food as "food!" I didn't even see it as edible!
It took a lot though.... one thing that helped me was to STAY IMMERSED IN RAW FOOD INFORMATION! To stay focused on suceeding in the raw food way, i really had to get extremely educated about it. I had to read numerous books, spend lots of time online on forums and websites, watch vlogs and read blogs, watch raw food vids, and talk to other raw foodists. Without all of this, it would have been very hard to stay raw.
About 3-4 weeks into raw food, i had a "slip-up" where I ate slightly steamed broccoli. I was craving it SOOOOOO BAD and i didnt think that it would be very harmful. Well, it made my stomach hurt, my head hurt, my thoughts blurred, and i felt tired.
I never cheated again.
Now adays i only see fruit, a few veggies, nuts and seeds as FOOD. Everything else that people eat just seems to be man-made processed shit that my body will not thrive on... you know?
oh p.s. i went through trouble with eating disorders as well... back in the day... thats one of the reasons why so many people worry about me still -- since they are uneducated about raw foods, they think im starving myself!? haha if only they saw how much food i can eat in one sitting NOW. =)
Welcome to a great little community of really friendly people who will back you and encourage you the whole way in your transition to raw. I hope you get lots of friends, shoot I know you will. Welcome.
