We use a natural dish detergent and water it down a lot (for using on produce) and we spray it on the bag. Then we massage it in and it gets all bubbly and foamy. Then we rinse it. Sometimes we have to turn it inside out and do it again if there w...

Shopping...in the rain..is like shopping and showering at the same time!
I just got home from our weekly Friday shopping trip and I happened to lay everything down on the table in preparation to put it all away when I thought, "this would make a great picture!" I pulled out my lovely digi cam and realized that it didn't fit in the pic! My daughter had the great idea of making a video instead, and she wanted to do all the talking as well.
As you can see, we buy a lot of bananas! I once assumed that I buy about 20 lbs of bananas, but I added it up… Continue
I did a smoothie feast, and that went very well, but now I need something else to keep me super motivated. So what I am going to do starting Wednesday, Feb. 18th and ending Saturday, Feb. 28th is a semi smoothie feast along with an exercise challenge. The hardest thing about the smoothie feast was that I missed solid food. At this point with all of the planning, packing, and getting ready to mov… Continue

So very nice to meet you and all of your wonderful extended family! I will definitely have to stop by if i am every up your way!
I started to tell you how filming myself freaks me out and I think folks like Bunny and Rory are so brave. I think I might try doing a recipe or something to figure it out. I felt like i busted through some part of myself that holds back in fear when I danced as the tree of life. Being with wonderful kids like your daughter and nephews helped my on my path!
Aloha!
I am the only raw foodie in the family although, w/ the exception of my middle DD, they all are adventurous and very well rounded eaters. I make dinner for the family and always make my dinner part of the offerings. So there is usually a cooked dish and salad as well as some other raw delight. The more I learn and the better I feel the more i am trying to up their intake of raw. It is really important to me to let them all find their own way for their own bodies and relationships to food and eating. I share lots of info and they see my example, but I really believe you have to figure it out for yourself experientialy. I actually really enjoy cooking and always have. It is a good thing I am an intuitive cook; ) now that I don't taste the dishes while I'm cooking them! Do you have any good HS conferences in your area? We are headed to Life Is Good Unschooling conference in May, but like most things for us it isn't in our area!
Interesting... hmm to be completely honest, I'm not sure if eating simply will definitely work for me, but it's the first thing I'd like to try. I've read about how the gourmet stuff (on the forums and just general researching, listening to raw foodists, etc.), especially when adding a lot of fats, tends to put weight back on a person... although perhaps those were only personal experiences and not everyone's bodies are like that... But I guess it kind of seems to make sense to eat more simply? I don't know to be honest, but I'm going to try and see if it works for me. *smile* I'm definitely not going to stop green smoothies anytime soon, those are so lovely!
*smile* thank you! Lol, I'm actually wanting to get Dr. Douglas Graham's 'The 80/10/10 Diet' and give that a shot. The gourmet raw vegan recipes I've come across sound lovely, but I feel like eating more simply is probably a better bet for me. Though I'm researching more to ensure I don't get deficient in any vitamins or anything of that sort.
Amanda, I just realized you were on the Raw Weight Loss group as well, and I just wanted to comment on your weight loss success. How wonderful! You must be really proud, and I'd like to congratulate you on it! Weight loss can be so challenging, keeping it off is a challenge in itself (been there, done that!). so I wish you the best of luck and I believe that you'll do fine with it! :D
