I'm actually back *on* the wagon, but I'm opening my fall show, so my schedule is whacked, and I have a crew of 6 to keep busy. I'll try and get something together to post soon ... and this show is when I get to see my friend Bevan (Dang, I reall...

I'm so glad the book is working for you! It really made a difference for me too. I think it gave me permission to be okay with my multifaceted interests in a way that I hadn't before. On the food topic. I've been off my game, and not quite tuned...

I would say that I'm not a stress-eater, but I am definitely a frustration-eater. Carbs are my first craving, but I think it's more for the emotional-numbing than for the grounding. I was raised with a "Don't be upset; eat this." set of parenting...

Ahhh ... accountability is at the core of my set of needs right now. I'm looking forward to it. I should probably do a weigh-in, so that I have a starting point. I just know that the pants-o-meter is saying that if I don't shift gears I'll have ...

Bunny, First, I want to let you know that the thing that got me back to RawFu after months of absence was your tweet about needing a hug ... so {{{{Bunny}}}} I am one of those people without a meetup group, and since I spent the spring at a show ...

Hey Rhonni! Wow...I am so grateful to you for turning me on to this site. Of course, right now I'm in the "overwhelmed-trying to know everything all at once" phase. I can already see that this will be a challenge for me but so helpful! Hope work hasn't kicked your butt. Feel better. Peace and peas, Kim

A bit about me:

I live in 4 places every year. The Hubby and I have businesses at Renaissance Festivals in Georgia, New York, and Texas. The way our schedule works, we basically have no days off between April 1st, and the second week of December ... but then we have a pile of free time, and we spend it in our organic avocado and citrus grove on the Mexican border in Texas.
I've been vegetarian for years, floating back and forth about pescetarian, but it never felt right (I never could get to like the taste). I've been working at losing weight all of my life. Now I'm succeeding (happy bonus). I'm striving to alkalize and detox my body, as I am a breast cancer survivor (5 years cancer free!!!), and I spent about 8 months in chemotherapy ... not to mention the 45 pounds I gained during my treatment. I now have about 30 ... whoops, now only 23 or so pounds to release in order to be at a healthy weight for my 5'4".
I'm into Sustainable Agriculture, I'm a Food Professional, and I'm learning to play the guitar.

Checkin' in, Day 16 ... I have to buy a car.

Hello everyone.
I've been out-of-pocket a bit, but I'm back. My best friend was visiting for 10 days, and I fully enjoyed giving her all of my time and focus. We played in art projects, and other than being in a car accident and totaling my van, it was altogether a MARVELOUS time.
Yes, totaled ... The Hubby was driving, and an unlicensed, uninsured person pulled into our path. She thought she had the right of way, not understanding that a green light is not a green arrow light. Awful. Her… Continue

Pajamas

There are few things in life that bring me joy in the same way as 100% cotton jersey PJs. I mean really ... seriously. I spent a year in them while treating and beating breast cancer, and cotton jersey pajama pants, combined with a tee shirt push a button for me similar to casserole style mac and cheese, or whatever Mom used to cook for me when she cooked. I'm working on believing it's better than bread.

It's comfort food for the skin.

The perfect pajamas have a certain amount of extra… Continue

Day 99, a reflection

Who would have thought that a relatively simple answer to an unspoken but nagging question could have so transformed my life?

Raw Food ... I can eat all I want (unspoken request). I have more energy (spoken request). I need less sleep and wake up clearer (unspoken request). I'm shrinking (spoken request). I'm having fun with what I eat again, rather than feeling like it's deprivation (fantasy). I guess the main unspoken request was "What can I do that WORKS for my needs, rather than what seems… Continue

Packing and waiting.

I'm probably just about packed for my trip to Houston. I can't get boxes out of the way until the remains of Tropical Storm Hanna abate a bit. I still need to pack the filing cabinet (4-tubs), my bathroom accoutrements, and one suitcase of clothing for the week. So, I'm sitting in a room full of tubs and boxes, thinking that I'm forgetting something. This is why I pack 2 days before I leave ... so that I have time to remember.

Today the festival closed midday, due to the approaching storm. This… Continue

This is what beautiful looks like:

Wow,
This year has really been one of unfolding in regards to body image, and how I project "health". I realized some months ago that part of the reason I had been unable to shed the weight I gained during chemotherapy was because I had my energy focused on keeping the people around me comfortable ...not shaking the boat so-to-speak.
I see my friends and co-workers intermittently throughout the calendar year. Sometimes 10 months go by before I see someone again. In that 'first impression moment'… Continue
