Very upsetting to me that this is her only child as I only have one (also a son). Thank goodness she is getting the help she needs for her son at Hippocrates. I put her story and the links on my facebook page. Wish I could help more!

Me too! I have never had one, but would LOVE to. Can't afford it, though, can barely afford to eat raw! How do you all do it? (financially, that is)

Suggestion: Don't juice mustard greens! They are extremely HOT and it is very difficult to drink the juice from them!

Searching for a video...

Hello!

I am searching for a video by Rawdawg Rory from the last 100 day challenge. I honestly tried to find it to no avail. I am looking for the one where he made garlic aoili sauce over cucumber noodles and spiced tomatoes.

Help?

Thanks!

I wanted to thank yo for the encouragment to juice apples and dandelions! I made some yesterday...actually alot! I have a patch of dandelion that I grew this year in the garden but hadn't really used them! Since we went apple picking the two just came together. You have encouraged me to juice ALOT on this holiday challenge. Thank you! What kind of juicer do you have? mine is not so great....I usually squeeze the pulp thru cheesecloth or nutmylk bag afterwards to get another big round of juice...I ain't wastin' nuthin'!!!

Hi there, well yeh pretty much this is my backyard, it really is a five minute walk through a paddock which Iam surrounded by and here it is, such beauty, yet hardly anyone comes here, so me and my dog have this whole perfect beach to ourselves everyday. Its so amazing to hear the ocean and to smell her and to swim in her waters every day I feel very blessed to have found this little touch of paradise.

Oooh, thanks for the coupon code. I was looking at their supplements so this will help (seem to be spending a lot of $$ on various powders and potions these days).

I was reading more about Rhodiola and Holy Basil - I have a hard time focusing at work in addition to the SAD etc so I think I am going to try them. Thanks for the recommendation.

I used this recipe: http://www.purelydelicious.net/blueberrypie.htm. Threw it in the freezer right away so it would firm up. :]

:) here you go!!

Raw Pecan Pie

- makes 20 to 24 squares -
Ingredients

2 cups raw almonds, soaked for an hour and drained
35 pitted dates, soaked for 1 hour and drained
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups raw pecans, soaked for an hour and drained
Cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil, to grease your pan

Procedure

1. Combine the almonds and 10 of the dates in a food processor, and process until they are coarsely ground and clumping together. Grease the bottom of a 9-inch square brownie pan or a pie plate (I recommend the square pan so you can cut it into little squares-It is extremely rich!) with a little cold-pressed olive oil to keep the pie from sticking to the plate. Press the almond-and-date mixture evenly into the bottom of brownie pan and up the sides to form a crust. Set aside.

2. Combine the remaining dates, the fresh lime juice, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla in a blender or small food processor (I also added a pinch of nutmeg, and used a little less cinnamon) and process until the mixture has a smooth, uniform consistency. Spread the date filling evenly over the crust. Arrange the raw pecans on top of the date mixture and press lightly.

Here is where I tasted the filling and knew something was missing :P

All you agave haters out there are not going to like me very much...but I drizzled the whole thing in agave, which added to the sticky moistness and gave it a shiny glaze and added sweetness.

Cut the pie into 2-inch squares and serve. ENJOY!!!

hugs,

Gypsi
