Why Do You Want to Join Raw Fu?
I became interested in the Raw Food Lifestyle earlier this year.

By chance came across the website of Karen Knowler a UK Raw Food Coach. My interest and curiosity has grown and grown with each ezine from karen.

I did not realise how huge this worldwide community was until I did more research on the internet.

I am looking to be high raw through this challenge... perhaps a 100% by the end.

I look forward to connecting with people new to raw and those very experienced in the raw lifestyle.

Day 5, why didn'y I do this earlier !!!

My reasons for this challenge are weight loss, energy and vitality and spiritual development.

I am here thanks to UK Raw Food Coach Karen Knowler, an inspiration to me.

My commitment is 2 raw food meals a day and a healthy cooked meal,

So far have achieved a good 70/80% raw per day and have lost 5lbs!!

Thanks for the lovely comments, great to see you back and ready to rawble! Hows that warmer weather treating you in the midlands? It must be thinking about warming up for you now, as its getting cold here at night these days.

You heard right, Dory and I are on juice! I did a 30 day juice feast or fast right before Easter for 30 days and then went off and ate only raw for 1 week. I can’t even tell you how great I feel when I am only on juice. The 30 days went great, I loved everything about it. I didn’t even mind cleaning the juicer or having to go and get produce almost daily. Boy, you really burn through the fruits and veggies when you are on juice. I have been back on juice with Dory for a week, I got off to a great start but have been struggling the past few days. I was really searching to find what the difference was, it has been cold but then it was cold last time too. I think I have finally put my finger on it. I let myself believe it would all just magically happen again and I haven’t been writing in my journal or food log like I did so religiously the first time. When I look back on my journal I discovered I was my own cheer leader and encouraged myself with my own words and was VERY conscious about my every feelings and the benefits I was reaping from the juice. This week my main goal is to write more about it and focus on the joy that the experience has given me. I haven’t lost as much weight this last week like I did during my past juice feast and I haven’t followed the protocol of getting in all the green or celery either. Time to bump it up again. I don’t know how long I will stay on juice only, I take it day by day. My main goal is very vain, I want to feel good in my swimsuit! The weather here is on and off, still not warm enough for my liking. I do agree that warm weather makes it much easier!
Happy Monday to you! I hope your week is splendid.
Love,
Ce

Hi~
Finally catchin' up a bit, thought I'd pop in & say hello, & see how you're doin'! You're juicing, too, huh? I'm eagerly awaiting spring & abundant produce so I can join everyone in a juice feast!
Hope all is well with you & that sweet little guy!

I also love the spring and warm weather. The sun came out some this morning but is already hidden again by clouds and it is still cold here. This has been a really long winter! Yes I am vegetable deep in a juice feast. I am not adding any raw except for the 1TB of coconut oil that is recommended and I do mix that with honey and a little sea salt and look forward to that treat daily! I am feeling really good on it. No detox symptoms so far except I have been feel tired, nothing on the emotional front and no skin breakouts or headaches. I keep reading about all this energy you get on this fast but it has yet to find me. I am still able to keep up with the things I have to but I do feel a big more sluggish than normal. For the last 2 days I have finally been able get in the full amount of juice required and I hope that helps me out some too. If you have a blender you can make juice in it with a nut mylk bag. I actually find it to be less work than my juicer and easy to clean up. I make my juice as I drink it not all at once. I always stain my pulp through a mylk bag anyway so it cuts down one step for me and I always get at least a ½ cup out of the pulp even though it looks pretty dry. It works especially well with greens. Just an idea to think about. The juice feast has not been nearly as hard for me this time around. Last time I tried I failed miserably. I am trying to keep the majority of my juice green. My favorite right now is ½ head celery, 1 long cucumber, 1 full bunch of dill, 1 garlic clove, 1 tomato and a lemon or lime. I also juice a lot of spinach. From what I understand you should try and juice 1 pound of greens daily, I am close by not quite there 1 kilo of spinach gets me through 3 days of juice and I do not do a full head of celery every day. The celery is so long here, up to my knees I do half a head a day. I’m not sure how long I will do it. I am just taking it day by day and see where it leads me but the weight is coming off and that in itself makes me very high!
I hope you have a chance to get outside and enjoy the sunshine!
