This time I'll be posting updates on my cleanse the day of instead of the next day because last time I got super confused! I guess I'm easily mixed up.
My goals for this cleanse are:
1. Do the SWF (salt water flush) each morning and the senna tea each evening.
2. Stay on the cleanse for 15 days - o no, that cuts into thanksgiving! Whatever, not like I'll be eating most of the stuff we have for thanksgiving anyways.
3. Get into the 170s and maintain my weight loss (or of course lose more weig…

Coffee, coffee, coffee and cooked lunch got me through a grey and stormy day. Put it behind me and for supper I've just prepared my first batch of completely raw hummus which I slathered liberally over crudites and finished with olive oil and spices. Le yummy.
BUT... what did I not do? I didn't binge, didn't chug shortbread biscuits, didn't consider myself a lost cause. It went wrong for a few hours. I put it right again. Am marvellous. Am wonderful... Am a bit surprised, to be honest!

I have to say that I really like this idea of starting my day by stopping eating at 3:00pm...instead of in the morning. For me, the afternoon - evening time is a big challenge. Kids are home, snacks are being made, everyone is celebrating the afternoontime together...it is easy to have some of this and a bit of that. It is much clearer for focus on enjoying the feeling of being lighter and wanting to start my day out strong. That's not to say that last night I didn't want to have the warm grille…

This is kinda weird and gross, so if you get grossed out easily don't read! Even I'm weirded out by what my body is up to lately, haha.
So for years I've had a few bumps on my chest and two bigger ones in my armpit. They weren't painful and I couldn't pop them, so I've left them alone. I try to pop them every once in a awhile, but nothing ever happens, so I just figured they were there permanently, like a benign cyst or skin tag or something.
A few weeks ago, one of the bumps on my chest poppe…

so odd, I never drink coffee past 10am and poured a second small 1/2 cup. This will have to stop. It makes my skin feel terrible right after I drink it. Anyhow, funny thing. As I'm wanting to build a warm and peaceful home I was thinking how do I draft this out for my family. They still want healthy cooked whole foods so I thought oh the temptation. Well, a good friend invited me to join her dinner coop. there are 4 of us now and each family picks one night, the other nights dinner is delivered…

My day 1 is underway. This is a journey of living in vibrant health each day. Although I'm excited for what will come, I'm switching my focus to enjoy the energy and lesson of NOW. Instead of starting my day in the morning, I decided to begin at 3:00 yesterday. Part of my goal is to not eat after 3:00...so I figured, by not start my day at 3:00? So fare so good. This mind set helped me with nighttime eating and the "I'll start tomorrow" mindset. Woke up feeling great, and still not hungry. Break…

I just bought myself a blender !!
I literally thrive on smoothies since i started on the raw food diet. I can assure you it didn't take long before my "Magic" Bullet died !!! Since i don't have the money to invest in a vitamix or Blentec at the moment, i decided to read a couple of reviews for alternatives. My choice ended up on the Oster Beehive. Althought it is EXTREMEY noisy, i'm loving it so far ! The reason why i post this is a revelation i had trying something Silly with this blender. I j…

I have recently faced the fact that my blood sugar levels have been out of control the majority of the time ever since I started using agave. Now I am just sad, wondering what my health might be like if I had never tried agave 4 years ago. I know I've learned from the experience, and I know I can go forward from here, and a million other positive things that I'm sure will come to me later. Right now, I'm just sad.

Q: 'Do you know what the secret of success in life is?
A: 'Setting yourself achievable goals'.
So the next 100 day challenge will start in a week or so, and I'm all excited. BUT I'm thinking to try and keep my goals small, and my achievements modest. I'm usually one for big plans and big self-delusion and so I often set myself up for a failure. But not this time, nu-uh. In 100 days I am not going to lose three stone, nor will I master the entire Astanga Primary Series. I will not get the draft…

I am so excited to find this great site. I am starting my 100 days and then when the group begins again, I'll renue and start up. I love raw foods and how energized, clear, and calm it makes me feel. I want to stay in that space for more than 5 days...I'm writing this with hopefully my last cup of coffee in hand. So I will be Nov 11 to Feb-19. I'm coming up on my 40th birthday in April and I would love love love to reach that feel what I know if possible.

Yesterday I picked up Red Russian kale, Tat Soi, Baby Bok Choy, Beets with their greens, roasted green pepper still warm from the roaster, and Acorn Squash, and a Pomegranate. It is so much esier to eat raw with plentiful greens.

I am a type 1 diabetic & have been raw most of the last 4 1/2 years. I have had a lot of problems with insulin resistance (which isn't normally a type 1 issue) & other health challenges in those years (although some of the health issues existed before that, too). Not only have I had health problems, but in the last year and a half (since I was hospitalized for complications of diabetes), I have put on almost as much weight as I lost in the first three months of eating raw. Weird. Anyhow,…

I'm trying for high-raw. For the past couple of weeks (I'm very new to this) I've been maybe 50% raw. Part of my strategy is to keep eating a little protein and wholewheat for a while to make a transition to very high-raw. Tonight I came home and grilled a beautiful piece of white fish with just a drizzle of oil and a few herbs. It was perfect: simple, elegant. I took one forkful and just can't eat the rest. My whole self, body, mind and spirit just said 'NO!'. So it's going to 'waste'. Brought…

Fiiiinnallly. I did it! I lost 10 pounds!
I've been trying to get down to 150 for months. Actively trying since June, with the Gemini workout challenge and then raw. I didn't see any results that stuck until changing my diet. I think exercise is still important, but not as important as what we eat. And now that I have more energy from what I eat, I'm actually motivated to work out. (weiiird)
Soooo I'm booking my tattoo session this week to get my bee behind my knee. I've been wanting it for a…

Even though this community is super-duper-supportive I still feel the hesitation before I post discouraging updates. I feel like adding positive things to the community is helpful, and sometimes I feel like if I write about what I do that is not moving towards rawness will trigger someone else, or I don't know. Probably just me thinking too much and making excuses.
I've been doing pretty well, still eating meat, working on cutting out dairy and gluten still. For the most part I've made a vast i…

Found a mantra today: if you're going to change you're going to have to make changes. To this end I've contacted Stillpoint Yoga to see if I can join their December introductory. 7am start in London three mornings. Just a week. To do this I'll need to be packed and organised the night before and get up at 5.30am. Just a week...

My husband´s grandfather died so we went to the funeral in England this past weekend. Although we have been vegan for over 5 years now, his family is still a little freaked out by the whole thing. They did such an amazing job with making sure we had food and that we were happy that I couldn´t bring myself to insist on raw foods. His dad made us a special loaf of vegan bread as well. I just decided to accept these things with love and gratitude.
Of course, I lost my raw high *laugh* And it is go…

Is it possible to juice collard greens?
Yes!
But the centrifugal juicer doesn't get the most out of them, so the pulp goes into the blender with water. Then I press it through a sieve using the back of a wooden spoon.
Tossing out the fibrous pulp, I add the green liquid to cucumber juice, lemon juice, and celery juice - the juicer does a great job on those.
My just juicing lasted five days, but then there was some rebound over-snacking. Now making sure to have substantial solids every day as…
