Angie Holiday Time & Emotional Eating

I have recently realized that in the past, I ate to make up for a lack of joy/connection at holiday time & get-togethers. I stuffed myself silly at every single party or evening out. Even after going raw, I would spend hours of prep time & loads of money to make raw versions of whatever everyone else was eating in order to try to feel like I wasn't different: raw lettuce leaf tacos when the family got together for a taco night, raw cranberry relish at Thanksgiving (and I never really eve… Continue

Jenni (May be Triggering) No Sugar - Day 5

I'm glad I'm kicking sugar, but it is much harder than I anticipated today. I am dreaming about sugar. Today I had a stressful morning, and I kept thinking, "If I just had a little sugar, I'd feel so much better." Sure, for a minute. Then I'd feel guilty. Then I'd feel lethargic from the crash, and I have way too much to do to deal with that. I'm sticking with no sugar. I'm sticking with no white flour. I'm sticking with one salad or green smoothie or green soup a day. I am not getting two past… Continue

Kelsey Cliche! Vacation/back to the start!

Went to Seattle for the weekend. We had a great time but it turned into a huge binge! :[ Oh man. We walked around the city a lot every day, but ate a lot more than I was used to as well. I felt sluggish, had acid reflux all day yesterday (noticing this a lot more when I eat cooked foods now), and gained 6 pounds. One weekend totally threw me off my minigoal weight, sigh. I'm soooo ready to get back to eating mostly raw, it just sounds delicious and I know I'll feel so much better! Hopefully on… Continue

anna Preparing for the Wild and Wicked Juice Fest!

I have been thinking about this challenge and I could tell you that I am feeling that Challenge. The thing is breakfast and lunch is raw foods but dinner time I eat something solid or cooked or have a cup of tea. That is my downfall. I dont eat flour and I avoid the sugar at all cost...which is surprising to me since I am a sugar addict. I LOVE sugar.....But really my desire is to hang in there and accomplish the goal of plain juicing and giving my body the rest that it deserves. My thoughts is… Continue

Malachi Raw Love Are You Happy to eat?

There are many reasons why people are overweight – stress, lack of exercise, lack of knowledge concerning correct nutrition, over-worked, laziness etc. But I believe one of the most potent reasons for overeating is emotions. It is a well-known fact that we all have emotions, in fact, since we came out of the womb we have expressed emotions: we usually come out with a cry then we begin to smile, laugh, and as we grow we become more expressive of our emotions; we love, we hate, we fear…there are a… Continue

Sarah Strange moments in my trip through the universe

So my mom and dad saw an infomercial for a blender. and theybought it. Then it sat in the garage unopened until they gave it to me. The crazy thing is since rawspirit I have been thinking about wanting a vitamix. This blender is one of those montel william's health masters. I was plannign on doing a juice feast in December to kick my ass into 2010. And my parents give me this high powered infomercial blender. I see it as one of those moments where planets align. Lately I just feel like shit. A… Continue

anna Spinach....Oh geed to Yummy!!!!

When I was twelve years old I became a vegetarian. It was hard at first for the first couple of days and in a matter of weeks it didn't bother me at all that meat was not in my diet. At that age I was never a fussy eater. I wanted to be a healthy person and live life comfortably. My diet consisted of fruits, vegetables and alot of pasta, flour and sugar. The one thing that I NEVER liked was spinach. My mother would cook spinach and the aroma of it will give me a headache. Never did I thought th… Continue
