My goal for the next 10 days is to exercise 5 days a week and to not bow to pressures from friends and family to eat SAD food. Safe food = tangerines.
Getting up and moving is essential. One of the main reasons this former runner gained 125 lbs in the first place was a stressful job with long hours often in excess of 70/wk, stuck in front of a computer, coupled with a SAD diet. According to the gvt's health charts, I still need to lose 100 lbs to get back to a normal, healthy weight, but since I'm carrying so much extra muscle from 7 years of carrying all these extra lbs, I'll be thrilled if I can lose another 50 to 75 over the next year. Health is my only true goal now.
First day of the challenge has already been challenging. Went to a celebration of a friend's birthday. Called the restaurant in advance to ensure I could get a raw salad. Long story short, the salad was not all raw! No one could believe all I wanted was a small salad without meat or cheese on it, and they kept insisting I needed more food, wine and dessert. But I held fast and have nothing to regret. :-)
