Day 5 - Madison Market, Buying Raw at the Co-op & detox time

Ok, so I go to Madison Market, and I like it, but I always felt MM is more about how cool the place is versus just being healthy. I dunno. I am not a member, but I love the idea. It is really freaking expensive & I can't afford it. I prefer farmer's markets, local markets, Trader Joe's & PCC.

Anyway here is what I bought.

For my body:
Dr. Bronner's Lavendar Magic Soap - Kevin usually gets this for me & we were out
Tea Tree Deodorant without aluminum
Pure Organic - Tea Tree Shampoo

Yay!

Ok, food. This was weird. It makes it painfully obvious how I really need to LOVE my dehydrator & get a food processor stat.

Ok, so my first ever raw, cacao powder. OMG good. I made raw warming drinks tonight w agave for us. Yum.
I got some sort of raw maca brownie. I am not sure what it is, but I devoured it before I was in the car. I was hungry...
Ok - the deli girl said this is fav of all time food - and she is not raw or vegan:
Artisa brand raw organic vegan goji bliss - It is coconut butter w goji berries.

It's hard until you warm it to 85 degrees. I have no idea what I will do with this. Gonna google for smoothie & other ideas. She just said get it if I am detoxing & low on energy.

Last but not least:
Gopal's brand Carob Quinoa RAWMA BAR

So, yea, yummy stuff. It was 43 freaking bucks!!! Expensive, but I think the coconut butter & cacao were smart purchases & the hygiene stuff is always pricey.

Maybe tomorrow will be better. Kevin is staying over & we are going to work on cleaning & he helps motivate me.

Hopefully, I will put a new video tomorrow, but he is here watching Daily Show - so a Blog instead of Vlog is what you get! Lots of love & go RAW!

Well, I don't hate it at all. I am really grateful it is there & I realize how incredibly lucky we are in Seattle. The thing is - I guess I feel a major case of intimidation. I am not a member. Secondly, everyone there looks at you a lot & I don't like people noticing me at all. I dunno. I am a freak. I have no depth perception & I get really nervous & dizzy when I am in crowded or strange places. I am sure my issue is it is unfamiliar territory & it takes me a while to assimilate.

Yeah- I will let you know how Goji Bliss is! The deli girl was adamant this is totally worth it & excellent for smoothies. I will find a recipe to post here & make it tomorrow to taste test. :)

I couldn't either. I have been having some serious emotional detoxing. I have really bad depression issues. I mean, I still take an antidepressant & it's not that easy for me to just stop. It's kind of a bigger deal than I am even making here, but at least I am going RAW to start!

My boyfriend picked me up & we went to his friends house. I started crying at his friend's house, it was ridiculous. I am just really super emotional right now. Kevin & Art are really cool. They are carpenters and artists & into holistic medicine & both lived in Hawaii - his friend even was a bee farmer, so they understand my detox. Thank God they love women, because I have had some boyfriends that have been mean time to time & it is nice to have love when I am emotional.

Anyway, YES, if you go to Madison, let me know. I will be at home on unemplyment during this whole challenge. So, I will be available day and night. Just send me an email one of these days & we can meet up. :)

Lots of love

Hi, I live close to Madison Market as well, and love to go and look around. I pick up a few specialty things there (cacao butter for raw chocolate!) and then hop over to Trader Joe's for the deals. Let me know if you ladies want to meet up there for some juice/tea and shop around sometime.

Artsygirl, hope you're feeling better :)

Thanks Nikki! I am just taking it daily. I am going to try to make a smoothie with the goji bliss in a few minutes. I have a great feeling about it. :)
