I have been wanting to attend the meet up and have discussed it with my hubby, his work schedule has been crazy so we have been trying to work it out. I'll be sure to let you know when we will be heading that way.
My teenage son and I attended the Simply Raw documentary showing several months ago with Pamela. It was really encouraging to be with others seeking the same lifestyle. My son is hoping to get his naturopathic certification someday. I live about an hour from Georgetown Market so whenever I am in that area I like to stop in. I grew up on the Northwest side of Indy. I just went to my 30 yr class reunion if that give you a clue of my age. Looking forward to meeting you in person
I'm going to try to search to see if I can use those in black tea. They should be okay in my fridge for a day, right? I'll make a batch right after work tomorrow.
i am so glad to find you! You and your daughter are absolutely beautiful w/such radiant infectious personalities! don't ya'll be strangers! raw luv, honey
No, I only did 100% raw for that 7 days. I might try to go 7 days, again, starting August 1st. These are just little steps I'm taking to get to all raw by 1-1-10.
Thanks for the insight about nighttime eating.
I am trying to shuffle my eating over to being heavy in the afternoons and light at night so that I get used to not eating so much right before bed...but that is a tough time for me. I made some banana milk last night and drank it until I was seasick...but overall it is getting easier. The funny thing is that I never before thought I had any problems with wheat products, as I used to eat them freely without thinking much about it, but after a month of raw, if any wheat passes my lips, I instantly feel dizzy, sick, and horrible. That seems strange!
Thank you so much for your supportive comments! I am still struggling with adapting to the lifestyle, and definately learning how to "listen to my body" for cues, as my first impulse is to just shove food in constantly - compulsive overeater - anyway, I really appreciate your insights! Keep 'em coming!! It is helpful to think about this as a whole life/body/spirit process. Thanks!
I was able to grow a SCOBY afterall! All I did was put half a bottle of GT's orginal kombucha in a glass, cover it and put it in a cabinet for 2 weeks.
I'm going to use this SCOBY to make my first batch of kumbucha!
You can still give me a SCOBY, if you want, though! I could always use a backup.
Hi! You weren't overly zealous at all! It was so great to have you and Hannah there! I know everyone very much appreciates your expertise and experience.
Thanks so much for your kind comments about my skin! I'm not sure what to say about why it looks better now than it did before. Raw foods made a huge difference. I don't eat any fruit at all, and I suspect that part of what has helped my skin repair itself is the death of all the Candida in my system. I don't do anything to my skin at all ... seriously. I don't always even wash it every day. Awful, I know, but it seems to work for me. I make my own soaps, lotions, etc., which I'm sure helps, too. (Making totally organic, chemical-free skin care products was my biz for a long time, so it's now FUN to make the stuff instead of HAVING to make it. LOL) I rarely wear make-up, but when I do I only use mineral make-up. Beyond that, having a goal of eating 100% raw, vegan every day seems to have made the biggest difference. :)
It truly was great having you guys join us Tuesday. What you shared was wonderful! Don't feel you need to "tone down" at all. You were both fine!!! If you'd like to get together and do lunch or have a cup of tea anytime other than Tuesdays, just let me know. I'd love to! Blessings!

Hi! Yeah, it was nice to meet you guys! I thought durian tasted like fruity cat spray and burnt rubber the first time I tried it, lol. I really like it now, though. Fresh is even better.
Day 1 went well! I started out with a green smoothie and took some fresh carrot juice to work with me. I had another green smoothie at lunch and raw spaghetti for dinner.

Too bad about the SCOBY! I still need one, lol.
I agree about the article. At least the Star made an effort, it's a start.
Have fun! Cousins is awesome. I got lots of pics:

The reporter wasn't at the last meetup, she couldn't make it. The story came out last Thursday. She mostly talked about Pam, didn't mention me lol.
